I know I haven't been active for the past few days, muses not cooperating with me - but right now, all my muses have quite frankly been shot to hell. To preference this, my younger brother is a cop in Baltimore, so it goes without saying that he has a slightly dangerous job.
Well, tonight we got a phone call from his roommate/co-worker - and not the kind of phone call you want to get, especially late at night. My brother's in the hospital - the result of getting a blow to the temple from a haymaker in a fight with a suspect. He's at one of the top shock and trauma hospitals right now getting treated - he's groggy as hell but we don't know the results of the tests yet so we may end up having to trek down to Baltimore to be with him (and may bring him home here to Jersey to recover). Will update this when I know more about what we're going to be doing.

Well, it was more then a few days, I apologize. My thoughts had been particularly chaotic from this - the suspect was a MMA fighter (who was in a domestic with his own mother) and well, he cleaned my brother's clock quite nicely ((insert sarcasm here please)). My brother's fine now, just suffering from migraines due to it (I think it was ten times that he blacked out - key words being "I think". All I can remember is that it was multiple times). There was no sign of bleeding so severe concussion with mild trauma was the official ruling.

I hope he recovers completely and then some! I would hate to be plauged by headaches. It's never fun. And I've been decked before so I can sort of relate. It's good to hear he's okay

Thank you - and agreed. Right now, he's cranky since he's a desk jockey and he rather be out in the field, but he can't do that until he's cleared by the hospital

Hope this all blows over soon. And maybe it could be wishful thinking, but maybe he'll be careful in the future?

God, I hope so, but knowing his job and where he's located for that, I'm not sure. I don't think I could handle the stress from any other work related incidents like that from him. This is why big sister wants her baby brother to move back home and get a job here in Jersey where it's damn well safer compared to Baltimore. ((This does not include the fact that he's also in the Army - that's a whole 'nother source of grey hair inducing nightmares))

Geez, that doesn't sound like any fun. It seems like a brother's soul purpose in life is to cause their sisters grief.

I'm going to give that a hearty amen.

I think it's less the brother's purpose, and more generally the younger sibling's purpose since I give my older brother more grief than he gives me.

I will concede to that point

At any rate, it's good to have you back around, and I'm glad your brother looks like he'll be doing alright.
