Alonzo's eyes widened slowly. "Oh. Well, I'm sure you'll find a fiddle player in no time," he attempted, unsure if there had been an offer in there or if he was just being too hopeful.

Alonzo just sort of gaped at him. "You've heard me play once?" he all but squeaked. "And you're offering me a job? I, I mean, where? When?"

Lou smiled at that, "How bout you show up tonight, if you haven't got any other commitments. Get there 'round six, I'll introduce you to the band. For the moment it'll be temp until I see how it goes, but you've got promise and I think you'll do well with the others."

The brown tabby offered him a grin before slipping out. This could work out very well, thank God he'd finally found a fiddler.

Whistling, Alonzo finished putting the fiddle away. He walked out of the dance with a grin on his face that almost made it look like he'd found a girl and not just a job.
