Growltiger sat at a booth in the corner of the restaurant, it was early evening, and it wasn't yet so crowded that it would be hard to hear the cat he was meeting, nor was it vacant enough that an apparent business meeting would stand out. He sat, and barely paid attention to the cup of tea in front of hims. He was too focused.

Macavity strolled in, cigarette already lit and his henches already in place around the restaurant. They'd been trickling in the last half hour. He continued to the table, sitting down across from the cat he'd been asked to meet and only sparing half a glance at the tea cup in front of the other.

Growltiger glanced up at the tom who entered...and he saw white and red, his smile hollowed immediately. "Good evening, Mr. Hollister."

Still smoking, Macavity considered him through the smoke. "Mr. Thames. What did you want?" Blunt, yes, but he had no interest in being here.

Growltiger eyed Hollister over his tea, and took a pointed sip. "Hollister," Growltiger began, "there's one thing I want to say before we start, so you know where we stand." He spread his arms wide, in a mock gesture of good will. "I have nothing against you. Really, mate, I don't. I respect hard workers and good toms, generally."

"If that was true, you wouldn't have asked me ta come," Macavity replied with an arched brow, taking a long drag of the cigarette.

Growltiger's ears flickered. "I have nothing against you, really, but the fact of the matter is that you took a great treasure from me."

Macavity's brows rose slightly. "I took nothin' away from you. She walked away, I didn't dra' her."

He may have actually laughed in the other cat's face, but it was more of a short, barking snarl. "I don't swallow that. Not for a minute."

Macavity gave him a long unimpressed look through the cigarette smoke. "I have no interest in what you believe, if that's the case. So what the hell did you want so I can 'et back ta what I actually need ta be doin'?"

"I called you here for one reason and one reason only --- I'm givin' you a warning." He leaned backwards, held his head high, and smirked. "I don't know what you're holding over her. I don't know what you did to her to make her think she had no choice. You have a lot of good things going in your life, mate," he shifted so it was unlikely he would be overheard, voice matter-of-fact, "but I will tear your world apart until I find it. Your business, your friends, your family. You think you can hide behind your status? You think the police will protect you from me? Think again. I've slaughtered military sailors who's boots you weren't fit to lick, and if you keep exploiting her, I will burn your world to the ground." He smiled. "Have I made myself clear?"

Macavity just stared at him for a long moment. "Well, somecat forgot ta warn me that you were off your rocker. I don't care what delusions you're workin' under, but this conversation is over," he said, rising. "Good day ta you."

"I'm going to consider you well-warned."

Macavity arched his brows a bit higher. "Consider yourself warned that I'm lookin' up the number for the nearest asylum and pointin' out there are crazy cats on the loose then."
