((I already promised VS that Lise will be on the Christine order of things rather then being La Carlotta. But with Lise being so damn nice to people, I can't see her becoming a La Carlotta. And Phantom was one of my favorites. In fact, I do have a copy of the novel next to my desk.))
She nodded. "It was a popular story to tell," she said quietly. She was tempted to say that her brother, Raoul, was one of the ones mentioned in the popular story, or at least a version of that story, but refrained. But then, she privately mused, her last name was not a common last name and given the events, it was bound to have been an international story. If asked how she knew the story, then perhaps she would tell how she knew it.

"I fear it is one I'm not entirely familiar with, though I've heard murmurs about it," Munkustrap confessed.

"Raoul de Chagny is my elder brother," she quietly confessed. "Although, I am not quite sure how he suddenly became a vicomte, at least, that is according to what the stories say he is. Our family was well off, but not /that/ well off." She shuddered slightly. "I am not sure of all of the details, I was but a kit when the events were supposed to have happened. That is how I knew about the warning of "Keep your hand at the level of your eyes", it was how you were to keep yourself from being caught by the Punjab lasso."
There was a distinct shudder in her voice when she spoke of the incident. It was an odd story and a dark one.

The silver tabby's brows rose, "That is quite the tale, and a good caution to keep in mind." He pushed open the door to the Demoniaque, holding it for her.

"Merci, Mssr Hollister," she murmured as she entered the Démoniaque. "There.." she paused, considering. "There is a book.. The Phantom of the Opera. It.. is supposed to be a fictional account. I will confess to not having read it, Raoul made me promise not to read it, at least, not until I was old enough to understand what happened."
((Historical check: The Phantom of the Opera was published in serial form from 1909 to 1910. That would have Lise as being 5/6 in our little universe.))

"Well, I am certain you are old enough now, should you wish to locate it," the lawyer said quietly.
((I'm half inclined to leave this for VS. What say you? Did she message you about Mac?))

((yes, she did. More then willing to wait for her. I'll make one last comment before Mac appears))
"I.. You are right. I should locate a copy.. If only to truly know my brother.."

"'Straps!" a voice suddenly boomed through the foyer, and Macavity was suddenly right next to them from where he had been checking on a small matter. Luckily the foyer was fairly empty, being a slow part of the day for a hotel, and Martin was nowhere to be seen.
Macavity looked so frazzled he barely paid attention to the queen next to his brother. "'Straps, I'm goin' ta be a father and I'm engaged and I really need ta talk to you," he said, rapid fire.

Munkustrap's brows shot up at that, "Mac? Where on earth did you come from? And...wait...you're, and you, and... Slow down and start over?"

Lise stood there, quietly stunned to see her employer in such a state. She wasn't quite sure if she should say anything or just leave. Hopefully, he wouldn't notice her. Dieu.. Well, at least he seemed happy (nervous, but..)

"Which part of that did you need clarified, 'Straps?" Macavity asked. "And this is my hotel, that's where I came from. But, 'Straps, kits, of mine, having a kit, what am I goin' ta do?"

Munkus finally fully processed everything his brother had said, "Kits...You..." He drew himself together, "For one you're not going to broadcast it around the foyer." His blue eyes darted to Lise, "And for another you're going to let me introduce Miss Lise de Chagny. And then we're going to go up to your office so we can talk."

Lise offered up a quiet "Bonjour," bobbing her head slightly. Dieu... He was bigger then she had thought he was. Her right paw gripped the left sleeve's cuff as a way to stop the trembling. He was.. Intimidating sounded almost too mild for a cat like him.

Macavity blinked his eyes over to her and paused. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said, picking up her paw and kissing the back of it automatically. "It's lovely to meet you."

"As it is you, Mssr Hollister," she murmured, smiling shyly. "I shall leave you two gentletoms to talk since it seems to be a matter of up most importance. By your leave, Mssrs." She gave a small curtsy and slipped away, intent on getting to work.
(Exit Lise)
((And I so can see Mac being stunned when she curtsies to him XD))
