Clara let out a huff of amused breath. "Didn't I hear he was going to reopen the Palace legally? I believe there's going to be a big gala to celebrate the event."

Genghis smiled slightly, "Yes, I do believe I heard that." He dug through the drawers of his desk, finally withdrawing an envelope with an embossed invitation inside, "Would you care to accompany me to said gala, Clara? The invitation came yesterday."

"It would certainly be fascinating," she replied. "Though I suppose this means I must find another dress fancy enough for the event?"

"You could always adapt one of the ones you wore last year if you would prefer, but yes, a dress suitable for the event would be ideal," he replied, some humor tinging his voice.

A faint smile graced her mouth. "I could hardly adapt a seen dress," she teased. "They would eat your plus one's fashion alive. I suppose there are worse things than shopping, and besides, this sounds far too interesting to pass on."

Genghis smiled at that, "Well, we can't have them tearing your fashion sense apart. As always, if you like, I'm willing to pay for the dress and any accouterments."

"Since I only ever seem to be able to wear these dresses once?" Clara smiled. "I would hope so. I'll be taking you up on that one like usual."

Genghis inclined his head at that, "Just send me the tab, as usual. I'll see to the rest." He looked over the profit margins, "The shops seem to be doing well."

"I'll probably need it," she said, sliding off the table and heading out the door. "Look over those reports when you have a chance and let me know what else needs to be done."
