Misto swore at the kitchen, dumping his completely undrunken tea in the sink and setting about washing the cup. Finally, he walked back into the living room. "I'm going to bed," he said. If the other still didn't trust him, fine. He would perhaps be better able to deal with that in the morning.

Corciopat dropped his book on the couch, seeking something to distract him, he knew any work he tried to do would be done poorly and he couldn't risk that, but Cat... He paused for another moment before speaking "I..." He sighed. "I don't know what to tell you."

Misto paused and turned back around. "Oh?" He walked back into the room, sitting on the chair closest to the door.

Cori sank onto the couch, reaching for the short story collection, his paw tracing the letters on the cover. "I just...Franklin was...and..." Cat, how could he say any of this. "A good friend."
