Name: Mistoffelees Quaxo
Aliases: Misto, M
Age: 24
Build: He’s on the short and scrawny side. He’s something like 5’4’' and underweight compared to the average of that height.
Origin: He was born and lived most of his life in Felidae.
Occupation: After preforming card tricks on a street corner for a while, he'd taken a job at the Demoniaque as a blackjack dealer. Recently however, his uncle has died and he is the heir to the Jones estate. As such, he's become a socialite by default and has re-opened the Palace as a legal entertainment establishment.
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: He has longish black hair that he tries to keep in style (slicking it back every day) but due to various things, most mornings it barely gets combed, let alone styled correctly. Even now he's a public figure the only times it is styled is during particular events where he has to look his best.
Scars: His tail has a slight crick in his tail from where it was broken, but unless one is looking for it, they would probably not even notice.
Fur/Markings: He’s black from his ears to the tip of his tail.
Attire: He tends to wear clothing more on the formal side, including black slacks, a white shirt, a black vest, and a black fedora. He hates wearing suit jackets though.
Accessories: He has an old pocketwatch. It is one of the few things he has left of his parents and belonged to his father. Even now he's a public figure, he keeps his old deck of cards in his pocket though others rarely see it.
WOC: He has none, other than his claws, but he's so small that probably wouldn't help anyway. Coricopat has finally forced him to get a revolver and learn how to use it, but he'll identically forget it at home more often then not.
Appearance: He’s small. Not only is he short, but he’s slender. His fur and hair are black, and he tends to wear more formal clothing, in black and white. He’s not really attracted to color. And by that, what we really mean is completely color phobic.
Personality: Usually he’s rather quiet, only speaking around those he’s comfortable with. Once you get him talking, he also tends to be very snarky. Often times he’s content with being something of a loner, having few close friends. His time on his own is spent often reading—hand him any book and he’ll probably read it at least once—researching, or working on different magic tricks. Despite this, he also likes to be the center of attention so long as he’s performing. When he’s performing, a lot of his insecurities melt away and he is able to deal with all sorts of people he isn’t able to when he’s not hiding behind the mask of a performer.
It’s not so much that he has a short attention span but that he gets bored easily. He moves quickly, and usually talks quickly too, as long as he’s interested or excited about something. He’s a romantic at heart, but rarely shows that off to people around him. Trust is not something he gives to people easily. Once he has though, he opens up considerably, and can be very warm hearted. He has a habit of trying his hardest to help those around him, sometimes going to lengths that shock both himself and them, and just as often it doesn’t work out the way he would like.
He also has the skills of a housewife. He cleans other people's houses if he's in them, in part because growing up with servants in Jones' house means that he is used to a high level of cleanliness. Beyond that, he has a habit of cooking for people, and while most of his dishes are fairly practical, he is a good cook, and can follow recipes. He also knows some truly ridiculous deserts though he rarely takes the time to make them.
In many ways he is very much an intellectual, preferring knowledge to any sort of fighting, and occasionally, at least culturally, being somewhat arrogant. In a reaction against his uncle, he has spent a lot of his childhood and youth around rougher characters, but he is just at home at a high class establishment or orchestra concert. Though he often puts himself in this position since he acts like a housewife, he absolutely will hate the cat who tries to treat him like a servant.
For years he's hated his name, thinking it far too big for such a small person. This wasn't helped by the fact the only person to ever call him by his full name was his uncle, and their relationship can be called iffy at best. Lately however, he's started growing a bit into the longer version of his name, helped along by the fact that Coricopat will call him that, which puts it in a much better light.
Special skills: Intelligence, magic tricks, cooking, cleaning, and the ability to preform.
Weaknesses: He’s crippling insecure. He’s smart yeah, but that doesn’t always help, and he’s much smaller than most other toms. He didn’t have a lot of friends growing up and only his uncle to take care of him, so he feels he had to do everything himself, even though he doesn’t always think he can do it.
Fears: He fears rejection, being alone, and that he might not be able to defend himself. He also fears fire.
Likes: Magic, tricks, cake, the ocean (as long as he’s not in it), men’s hats, children, and tea.
Dislikes: Bullies, morons, violence, and disease.
History: He was born in Felidae, though he never knew his parents well. They died in an accident when he was about five. He grew up for the most part with his uncle, who never really had time for him, and he didn't usually appreciate it when his uncle did make the time. Bustopher Jones paid for his school and upkeep, but the social cat had little time for his ward’s mental or emotional state. When he was eleven the Great War started, and he would scrounge around for any information on it he could find.
He went through high school but after he graduated he never went to university, because on his own he did not have the money, and Jones refused to pay for him. Before that however, the Influenza pandemic struck Felidae in September of 1918, just as he was starting his senior year of high school. When that shut down the schools, he volunteered to help at the hospitals, being kicked out for the duration of the Jones manor as Jones put it down into quarantine for the worst weeks of the outbreak.
After graduating a year later he left Felidae for six months, probably up to Chicago or Boston but came back and didn’t really discuss where he was or what he was doing. Since then he’s returned and spent his time dabbling around with various jobs and opportunities around town. He’s made several friends who might be involved in the underworld, but he would rather not think about it, though when he does he is remarkably blasé about it. He’s claimed a street corner for himself and has been performing tricks for spare change, though that's changed now that he's more involved with the Demoniaque.
Recently, he found out his uncle was the cause of his parent's death when he was five. Their relationship, which was already strained snapped completely. Jones started attempting to use him to get information on Macavity who the other mob boss was starting to suspect of being the hidden paw. However, this plan backfired, causing Jones to get himself shot in the head by an over protective Coricopat. Being too arrogant to leave a will, Jones' entire estate has gone to Mistoffelees, who is now dealing with being a very rich public figure, the city's most eligible bachelor, and trying to reopen the Palace as a public entertainment house that is entirely legal.
Love Interest: He accidentally fell in love with Coricopat Zimmerman, and though it's illegal, and though they both had miles of issues to work through, and though they are both public figures, they've spent a lot of time and effort to make the relationship work.
Quotes: "Alright."
Theme Song: Prefacing this with the fact he's taken over my music choice: "The Dance" by Charlotte Martin, "Out of Control" by Hoobastank, "Dangerous Game" from Jekyll and Hyde, "The Riddle" from the Scarlett Pimpernel, and "Easy as Life" from AIDA. "I'm a Stranger Here Myself." "War" by Poets of the Fall. "How Can I Not Love You?"

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love."
