Griddlebone approached the penthouse door softly, hesitating outside it for a long moment. She knew she needed to be here, she needed to know how he was holding up. On the other hand she wasn't entirely sure she should be. The white queen considered the door for a long moment as she finally reached it.

Macavity was sitting at his desk, almost ready to start pulling out headfur. He paused when he thought he heard the lift, but wasn't sure and certainly didn't feel comfortable calling out if no one was there--now was not the time to be talking to voices.
However, when the cat outside moved again he heard them for sure, but was feeling paranoid enough he had his gun in paw before calling out, "Come in!"

He set the gun down quickly. "Grids," he greeted, not really moving.

She shifted enough to rise up on her knees and rest a paw on his cheek, "Oh, Mac, I'm so sorry. Maybe something will show up?"
