Misto's smile was faint. "No, I'm not. But I'm not sure what else to do so it's more of that I'm very hopeful."

Coricopat nodded slowly, "Alright. If you do need anything, please let me know."

Offering him another faint smile, Misto hesitated for a moment before leaning up and quickly kissing the other. "Thank you," he said, drawing back quickly.

Cori blinked, but managed a faint smile, "Of course."

Misto offered him a flickering smile, sipping at the tea in silence for a moment. Finally, with a faint sigh he set the cup aside and looked back at the mottled tom. "Should... should at least attempt sleep."

Coricopat finished his own tea, setting the cup by the sink. "Probably a good idea..."

Forcing another small smile, Misto nodded. "Yeah. Trying anyway. Thank you, again, it... meant a lot, even being able to talk about it." He wavered a moment more and slipped toward the door. "Good night, Coricopat."

"Good night, Mistoffelees." The mottled tom murmured in response.

With another faint smile, Mistoffelees slipped out of the kitchen, returning to his bedroom and sitting down carefully on the edge of the bed, taking the pocket watch out again and turning it over in his paws before sighing softly and setting it on the bedside table and curling up in the bed.

Coricopat watched him go before slipping into the living room and locating the newspaper again. He took it with him to his own room, putting it into his briefcase, there wasn't any need for Mistoffelees to stumble across that headline tonight or tomorrow morning.
