Once he was gone, Macavity turned back to Grids and let out a breath. "I'll work on getting that knife out now," he muttered, moving over.

Griddlebone watched him for a brief moment before going and finding her rag to finish her cleaning.

She stepped into his embrace, leaning her head against his chest and wrapping her arms around him. "When are you due back uptown?"

He lifted his shoulders slightly, one arm securely around her, the other coming to smooth down her long hair. "I'm not due anywhere for quite a while. The hotel mostly runs in the afternoon and at night."
