Coricopat nodded slightly in response. "Good to know," he glanced toward the stove. "It smells good."

Misto glanced at him over his shoulder and pulled it off the stove. "Thank you." He paused for a moment. "That being said, you mind helping me with the plates to dish it up?"

Cori shook his head, rising, "Not at all." he moved over and got two plates down from the cupboard.

"Thank you," Misto replied, having not been looking forward to reaching up that far to get the plates. He turned for a moment, dishing up a plate before handing one back to the mottled tom. "Here," he said softly.

Cori took the plate from him, offering him a flickering smile. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Misto replied, turning again to get his own plate before going over to the table. He faltered for a moment when he saw the key exactly where he left it, but sat down anyway, looking at the plate rather than the key.

Coricopat sat down at the table again, his grey eyes locating the key. He tried to ignore it, but finally picked it up, fiddling with it. Turning it over in his paw for a moment he eventually stopped, holding it out to Mistoffelees.

Mistoffelees had noticed him fiddling with the key, but ate on steadily, trying not to pay attention to it or think too much about it. When the key was held out toward him though, he stopped, carefully setting his fork down and bringing his eyes up to Coricopat. "I, are you... sure?"

The mottled tom nodded. "If you're going to stay, even if only for a couple days, you'll need the key."

"Thank you," Misto said very softly, reaching forward and finally taking the key, trying not to let his paw linger across Coricopat's but unable to help it a little.

Cori swallowed very slightly, releasing the key and withdrawing his paw. "You're welcome." He quickly turned his attention back to his food.

Misto drew the key back toward him, holding it tightly for a moment before forcing his paw to set it down on the table and return to eating, though his eyes kept flickering up to look at Coricopat as he ate.

Cori's ears flickered a bit as he caught Mistoffelees glancing at him. He didn't say anything for awhile, but finally spoke. "Is there something the matter?"
