At that, Tugger could barely supress a growl, he thought back over the newspaper story. "He hired those cats t'beat y'up?"

Misto shrugged his shoulders slightly. There were so many reasons he didn't actually want to be talking about this. "Looks like," he replied quietly, looking away.

Jerrie looked between his two friends for a long moment, "Tug? Maybe we'd better let 'im rest?"

Tugger was about to say something else, but shut his mouth at Jerrie's words, though it somewhat jarred his pride to do so. He was genuinely concerned about someone who he still considered, despite their last conversation, to be probably his best friend, but Mistoffelees seemed uneasy in his presence and now there was something in Jerrie's words that suggested Tugger was making things worse. He half began to wonder if he shouldn't have come after all.

"It's gettin' late after all." Jerrie justified his words. "Maybe come by tomorrow sometime during th' day?"

Misto glanced back over at the pair. "I," he started softly. But what the hell was he really supposed to say anyway? Yes, he was glad they both stopped by, but he wasn't sure who he felt comfortable talking too, and certainly not about his uncle. Not yet.

Tugger nodded slowly then shrugged, "Sure. Right, I guess take care then an' mebbe' see y'soon." he turned for the door, hating how this place just set his teeth on edge.

Jerrie watched the taller tom for a moment before sighing and rising, offering Misto a flickering smile. "Take care, M. I'll see you later."

"I... yeah," he replied softly. "Thanks again for at least stopping by."

Tugger just nodded, if Misto didn't want him around then he'd much rather just be out of that damn hospital as soon as possible.
((Exit Tugger))

Jerrie glanced at Tugger and offered Misto a shrug. "No problem. Get well soon, M." He slipped out of the room.

Misto frowned slightly after Tugger. He just honestly couldn't deal with anything else on top of the day he'd had the day before, or everything that had been happening, and while Jerrie at least was on decent terms with him, the last time he'd spoken to Tugger had gone massively downhill. He just didn't want to reopen anything--be it their discussion on Misto's love life, or the mental wounds of finding out his uncle sent him to the hospital.
His eyes tracked over to Jerrie, "Bye, Jer," he murmured softly as the torbie left. Which left him in about the same situation as they had come, only feeling suddenly much worse. About everything.
