Misto blinked awake and looked around the room he found himself in. It took him a few moments to remember anything, trying to piece together where he was and why his head still hurt so much. Tracing the night back, he remembered being in Coricopat's room--oh god he had been drunk, he had been angry, he told Coricopat he loved him--and then he had fled, being grabbed from behind and...
He tried to move and gasped in pain, as his body physically reminded him of what had happened after that. Okay, moving was not a good plan yet.

Cohen looked up from where he was checking a few things. "Oh, good, you're awake."

Misto turned his head--it still hurt to move but not nearly as much. He blinked at the sight of the doctor. "Oh, I remember you," he said, voice hoarse. "Doctor Cohen, right?" Blinking again, he processed that. "I'm in the hospital?"

"Yes, that's right. And yes, you are. Do you have any idea what happened?"

Laying back, Misto shifted, trying to take stock of where he hurt--beside everywhere. "I, sorta? I know I was coming out of the hotel and got grabbed from behind but not, not a whole lot beyond that really."

The doctor moved over to administer pain medication. "I see. Well, it will take some time but you should be alright."

Misto nodded and regretted it. "Thank you," he said quietly, watching the other move around.

"It's what they pay me for. The painkillers will make you groggy, but they should help once they start working."

"Still," Misto said very quietly, shifting slightly to be a bit more comfortable, but wincing at the movement anyway. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Best not to move." Doc looked up at quick, uneven steps in the hallway. He frowned. "I'm sure I distinctly said no visitors until I told the nurses otherwise..." He muttered.
The door opened, Coricopat entering, his breathing heavier than normal, but calmed from what it had been moments before. Doc simply pointed to the door, the lawyer ignored him, moving over to the bedside. "Good God. I leave you alone for a few hours and this happens." It could have been taken for an attempt at a tasteless joke if not for the strain in his voice and the very slight flicker of concern in his eyes.

Eyes widened, Misto turned his head, gaping at the other. For a long moment he couldn't force anything past his throat, shock closing it down. "Coricopat?" he managed finally, blinking rapidly, unable to even think of any other way to respond.

"What happened?" He demanded, his gaze darted to Doc who shrugged very slightly.

Lifting his shoulders slightly, Misto shook his head.

"When?"
"Sometime last night, considering when he was found." Doc answered
Coricopat rubbed his eyes, almost glaring at Misto. "I told you to stay."

Misto narrowed his eyes at him. "Don't..."
