Jerrie pulled his truck up in front of the Walnut Cafe, putting it into park. He figured it was a good idea to give his sister a heads up that Misto was staying with them for a while. He got out of the cab, tipping his hat back a bit as he strolled up to the door and stepped inside.

Teazer was just finishing up on her shift, trying not to yawn as she took her last order for the day to one table and the bill to another. She didn't look up when the bell over the door jangled, the waitress on the next shift could deal with the latest customers.

Jerrie watched his sister, waiting until she'd finished before moving over. "Tea?"

Teazer gave her customers a tired smile as she set their food down. Though it was worry that crossed her expression as she recognised her brother. "Jer, what're y'doing here? Is somethin' wrong?"

He shook his head. "Nah, was in the area an' remembered y' get off around now. Thought I'd offer y' a ride 'ome."

Relief crossed Teazer's face at that and she gave her brother a brief smile, "Thanks Jer, it's much appreciated." though she paused to frown at him again, "Y'sure there's nothin' wrong?"

She bit her lip, but didn't have time to dwell on it as her name was called from the kitchen. "I need t'finish up Jer, grab a seat an' I'll get off soon as I can."

"Kay, fair enough." He glanced around, he settled at a table to one side to wait.

Jerrie would have a bit of a wait on his paws, the manager was in, and sometimes, as she found herself taking two more orders out and collecting the bill payments for a couple of tables she really did think he had it in for her. Eventually, Teazer emerged from the kitchen again, untying her apron, coat slung over one arm.
She headed over to her brother, not bothering to hide how tired she was, it had been a long day.

Jerrie glanced at the clock before rising, moving over to meet her halfway. He motioned to the door. "Let's head home, hm?"

"Very gladly Jer. Sorry y'had t'wait f'me." she waited until they were out of the door before continuing, "My boss ain't bin' in the best of moods t'day. So it's safer not t'argue with him."

"He's payin' y' for th' time 'e makes y' stay late, right?" Jer glanced at her as they headed to the truck.

"Depends." Teazer didn't really want to get into a discussion about that just now. It was complicated. If she did extra shifts, she made sure she got paid, the same for significant amounts of overtime, but ten or fifteen minutes extra because they were busy, she'd never felt it was worth quibbling with her boss about, however, she had the impression Jerrie might disagree.

Jerrie didn't look like he much cared for that answer, but he let it slide, ten to fifteen minute intervals started to add up real fast.
