((This seemed a logical place to put this thread, since we don't have a defens attorney's office. If we ever have need of that I'll see about moving it then.))
Munkustrap was on his lunchbreak and still trying to figure out what he had been thinking the day before when he invited Electra out for the evening. It wasn't exactly something he did.
He'd need to start concentrating this afternoon though, he'd been far more scattered than he liked that morning, he just hoped his boss hadn't noticed. At least he hadn't had a case, they were still in pre-trial stage on the latest one he was assigned.
The tabby sighed, glancing down the street toward Richard's General Goods. He supposed he could stop by there and see if she was free for a walk or something. It wasn't as though he actually had anything to do over his lunch hour, having "forgotten" to grab something for lunch that morning.

Skimble saw his employee looking upset. "Munk, me lad, what's wrong?" he asked worriedly. He hoped that he wasn't getting sick. He had a case coming up pretty soon.

Munkus turned to see his boss approaching him. He offered a smile, his confusions falling easily behind the mask that he hadn't realized he'd allowed to slip. He needed to start paying more attention to that if his emotions were readable. "Nothing wrong, Mr. McBride. Just considering some things."

Skimble wasn't entirely sure that he believed his employee. But he was willing to stay out of their personal lives unless they came to him for help. "Well, laddie, if ya need me help with anything at all, let me."
He paused, "Though I do wonder what you're considering." He glanced over at Munk.

Munkus was very careful not to allow his smile to grow forced. If he needed help he would ask for it, but it was unlikely he would--if he wouldn't go to his brother for it he certainly didn't plan to go to his boss about it. "Thank you for the offer, sir. Everything's fine, I was simply thinking about the last few things that need to be dealt with before the Stevenson case reaches trial."

Skimble waved off his thanks. "I'm just looking after you, laddie. There's not reason to thank me." About the case, he asked, "How do you think we'll do?"

"I see no reason why we can't pull this one off. It really does depend on what the prosecution brings to the table, but I can't see us losing it. Worst case scenario we look at a deal." Munkustrap replied evenly.

He beamed at Munk. "So you have everything handled?" He considered Munkustrap for a moment. "I know there's a reason I hired you. You're a grand defense attorney, lad!"

The silver tabby inclined his head slightly in thanks. "We'll see how it goes. I believe that case goes to trial in a few days."

He patted Munk on the shoulder. "I know you'll do grand, laddie."

He offered another smile. "Thank you, sir. Now, if you'll excuse me I should probably go see that everything's in order for this afternoon's meetings."

Skimble grinned. "It's the truth, me boy. Now get back ta work." He said this part in a jovial manner.

Munkus touched the brim of his hat to his boss before slipping back into the building to return to work.

Skimble waved at Munk as he went in. He went into his office to get some work done as well.
