Doc stepped off the lift into the hall of the 13th floor, draping his overcoat over his arm as he approached the penthouse. Best to let Macavity know about the lawyer.

Mac had been pacing the floor in front of the desk, feeling antsy and on edge. Still no sign of Cor as far as he knew and he did not approve. His head turned at the sound of pawsteps. "Enter!" he snapped out.

Cohen pushed the door open. "Macavity?"

Mac froze at the sight of the doctor. "Zachariah?"

The Russian blinked at that, it wasn't often he heard his given name. He shook his head, remembering why he was there. "I found the lawyer on my way home this evening."

Mac's ear flickered back. "You mean Coricopat?" he asked, voice a little strained. Suddenly he almost didn't want to know, not if the other actually was dead...

Doc nodded. "Yes, that one. He's been treated and should be resting and recovering. Though considering how often he listens to me..." The last sentence was muttered under his breath.

Mac went down on the nearest surface, which thankfully was his desk, sitting on the top of it. "So, he's alive then?"

Cohen nodded again. "Da. And if his ability to be a complete ass while I treated him is any indication? He'll be just fine."

Mac let out a bark of laugher at that. "Good ta know. What happened?"

"Looks like an interrogation of some sort, but he didn't say much on the topic. He's got a bullet wound to his leg, narrowly missed the knee, deep scratches in his back and every single one of those claws he's always fiddling with has been cut short enough that I wouldn't recommend he have a nailfile for a month at least."

Mac cursed under his breath. "He's goin' ta hate that most of all probably," he muttered. "But I'll make sure he stays away from one. Where is he then?"

"His house. It was nearer to where I found him."

Mac arched a brow and nodded. "Fair enough. He must be thrilled at that." He paused. "Wait, if he can't move, should he be left alone? At least, bein' shot in the leg I'm assumin' he shouldn't be movin'."

Cohen blinked. "I would hardly leave him by himself. I know my job better than that. There's another cat at the house."
