Martin raised a brow at her, and turned the waitress, putting on his best smile and asking for both of their orders, shooing her off.

Teazer glanced around the cafe for a moment or two, before turning back to Martin, "So..." she hazarded.

"So," Martin repeated, leaning back. "What do you generally do on days like this?" he asked, referencing either lunch with a tom, or what she did on split shits.

"Depends, it's non unusual f'there t'be a late rush, so I don't always get the time I'm supposed to. Gettin' some kind of lunch is my usal priority, and then, since there ain't no point goin' home, I tend t'see to anythin' that needs t'be done around town, like gettin' groceries an' the like." she laughed, "Not particularly excitin'."

He shrugged. "Excitement is overrated."

Teazer laughed again, "A little of it here or there doesn't go amiss sometimes. What about you, what do you do with your spare time?"

He gave her a long slow blink for a moment. Spare time...? "I live at the hotel I work at," he said. "So even my spare time seems to be taken up by that." Or plotting.

"I guess that would kinda' make relaxin' difficult." Teazer admitted, "do y'not just need someplace else t'go sometimes?"

For a minute he actually gave the question serious thought, before shaking his head. "No, generally not. I have my own room there, which is enough for me."

Teazer shook her head, "I don't think I could live where I work."

Martin smiled thinly. "Big hotels like that? They have a habit of taking over a cat's life. Quite a few of us seem to live there. And it's very different from a cafe," he added, though not intentionally insulting cafes. But a hotel and a cafe like that truly were different. Let alone the gang business.

Teazer shrugged, "It doesn't matter where it is, I just don't think I could do with somewhere that wasn't work t'spend downtime."

Martin inclined his head. "True, but I tend to be able to find downtime in my own space, be it a room or a house."

"I guess everyone's different. An' how good your boss is. Mine wouldn't let me alone if I lived where I worked."

She got a long slow blink for that statement. "Mine tends to call my room at three thirty in the morning," he said. "To pester me about trivial matters. Honestly, it's easier to deal with him while living nearby in case he suddenly decides he needs something at an ungodly hour."
