Clover's tail curled and uncurled lazily behind his chair as he folded his hand and surrendered a couple chips in the process. "So does this mean we'll be seeing more color on you?" He grinned cheekily.

Misto blinked at him for a moment and shrugged. "I doubt it," he muttered, glancing down. "Aside from this, no."

"That's a shame." Clover kicked his feet a bit, his look morphing into something that was almost a pout.

((No worries Clover, he's full of crap))
MIsto nodded, shuffling the deck again. "What is it with everycat and color anyway?"

"Most cats think of it as an expression of a love of, or at least an interest in, life." Clover grinned a bit. "At least, from what I've seen."

Misto blanched at the other. "Love?" he asked, forgetting to shuffle the deck for a minute before restarting. "How is color an expression of love? Or... other feelings."

As if that falter wasn't noticeable enough. Clover forcibly toned down the wide grin he wanted to make to a friendly smile, but oh, he was interested now.
"Only because cats make the assumption that color and life are synonymous, that's all." he stated, still smiling.

Misto swallowed hard, glancing away. "It's a strange assumption to make," he muttered.

"Not sooooooo strange." Clover's grin never wavered. "There's a reason we wear black at a funeral."

Misto's eyes, which had wondered away, snapped back toward him. "I..." One of his ears flickered at the mention of funerals. "Maybe," he said, conceding the point for lack of anything further to actually say.

Clover's expression fell a little at that earflick and the lack of conversation. "Have I said something I shouldn't've?" Yes, Misto, you have just kicked a puppy. Or kitten, in this case.

Misto handed off another card before turning his attention back to the tiny cat in front of him. There was plenty the other shouldn't have said, Misto thought, ear flickering again. He was supposed to be working, not getting this flustered, not over a tie... no matter who had given it to him. "I," he glanced away, shifting again. "Maybe not, I'm sorry, was there something else you wanted?" He was retreating behind trying to be polite. It used to work so well for him.

Clover sighed at that, looking a tadbit forlorn again. "No, I suppose not." He folded his cards. The puppy. It is kicked. Again.

Shrinking back from that look slightly, Misto's ears flickered. "I... alright then," he murmured, looking the other over and trying to figure out what exactly he had done wrong.

Clover stood from the table, seeming to muster a smile. "So uh...I'll see you tomorrow, right?" Hopeful.
