Mistoffelees sighed as he walked back into the Demoniaque the next morning, fairly early. He had run back to Fourth Street to change and get rid of that blasted suit jacket, though his wardrobe otherwise didn't change much.
He yawned, trying to straighten his headfur a bit more by running a paw through it, starting up the stairs toward the ballroom where he hoped to catch the lift. Since it was New Years, the card room seemed to be opening early and he was thrilled with this fact, since he hadn't gotten anywhere near sleep until almost three that very morning.

Coricopat was on his way down the stairs from the ballroom. He needed to get out for a while, he'd tried doing more paperwork than he'd done last night, but his concentration was shot by a lack of sleep. Why he hadn't been able to get it done last night he had no idea. Usually he had no difficulty working til all hours.

Sighing again, Misto glanced up on his way up the stairs, stilling slightly as he noticed Coricopat coming down them. "Oh, morning."

Coricopat glanced at the black cat. "Good morning."

"I'm not entirely sure I'm willing to call it good at this point," Misto informed him. "But I am willing to admit it's morning... a morning I have seen far too much of."

"It's practically noon." Coricopat remarked idly, scanning the main entrance and spotting Smith in his usual place.

"If by noon you mean fifteen past eleven, sure, but I have still seen far more of this morning than I ever want to see of any morning."

One eyebrow rose sharply at that. "Really now."

"Yeah, remember that bit where you kept me up until three in the morning? And then I had to be awake to come into work early today?" Misto said, crossing his arms and still miffed about the whole thing.

Coricopat's gaze darted toward Martin as he replied. "In early? Whatever for?" He didn't wait for an answer before turning to go up to the ballroom--hopefully out of Smith's hearing.

Misto blinked at the abrupt departure, but considering the other had asked him a question followed. "Since it's New Years, a lot of guests seem to be staying and with not much to do today, so most of the floor is open, including the gambling rooms. Which means, oh look, I get to be in for work today hours earlier than usual."

"I see. What time did you get up this morning?"

"Eight? I think, yeah. Eight. It could have been worse but," he shrugged. "Since you basically blackmailed into staying up to three, I figure I can moan and complain loudly about it."

One eyebrow rose sharply. "You're complaining about getting five hours of sleep?"

"Being blackmailed into getting five hours of sleep, yeah," Misto said, pausing and eying the other. "I don't even want to know how much sleep you got do I?"
