The white queen watched him go, a brow raised. "Who was that?"

Mac blinked and winced slightly. "That was Cori. He, well..." Mac shook his head slightly. "Let's go with lawyer who works for me."

Mac settled down at his usual table, considering. "Well, that's puttin' it rather lightly. I'd be more inclined ta say most if not the entire city that's encountered him so far probably hates him."

Mac grinned slightly. "Which is not to say I don't like him, but it's a pretty rare thin'," he said, picking up the menu and frowning slightly. "Well, we're currently down one cook... but the other should still be in."

Mac returned the smile, glancing over the menu again, mentally omitting the things he knew Peter had mostly taken care of. "Omelets are a good choice," he said.
