"Honey," She deadpanned, green gaze challenging, brows raised gently. "I've got bills to pay - My landlord's not going to let me scoot past another payment. Double time." She bartered, seeking some sort of inch over the thresh-hold of her bills to give her some cash for the week.

He gave her an unimpressed look. "Than pay your bills better. You get the bonus, and I can give you the first month in advance, but that's it. I don't run the treasury here."

"You're not a fan of charity either I'm guessing," She surveyed him gently, her full lips in a thin line. "Fine, but I expect the advance....I've already had my pay pulled for the month, I can't afford to waste my time on some gossip rag without getting some cash." She rubbed the pads of her fingers together in a solid gesture of her lack-of-cash, her tail flickering gently.

"Deal, so long as you never call the Tribune a gossip rag again. We may write up quite the gossip section, but we are still a respectable newspaper," he said, though with half a grin, though his pride had been ruffled by the comment.

"I didn't say the Tribune was; not sure about you yet." Bombalurina let a teasing grin split her expression gently, flashing him a once over meaninfully to gesture to his credibility, rounding him to stand in front with some victory.

Philip leaned back against his desk, crossing his legs at the ankle in front of him and smirking lightly. "Well, I may be a gossip rag, but I am a damn good one." He paused. "Deal then?"

"For now." She grinned, making it immediately apparent that Bombalurina may have been in for the long haul as his associate; for a price - one that would be negotiable for as long as they worked together.

He grinned at her. "For now works. For the next month, for sure, if you want that advance."

"...and I do." She glanced pointedly at him, making it clear not all work was play, but Bombalurina could be playful in her work, whilst securing the advance. "So...what is it you want to know about that...thing anyway?"

Philip shrugged. "Anything you can tell me. Who was there, who was wearing what, who interacted with who..."

"Well...I barely know anyone in town," She passed him a glance, but I can tell you as much. She rounded his desk, taking a presumptious seat at it and pulling some copy paper out, quickly sketching some brief-lead figures on it, mostly women dressed in fancy garb, little bubbles describing their coats and colouring. For the men, she managed to pencil some few phrases, mere bits and pieces, but enough to probably piece together whatever the hell Phillip's wild imagination could come up with.
Bombalurina chewed the end of her pencil, not at all satisfied with her artistic efforts, but it was good enough to pass enough information to the male before her. She slid the paper forward to where he lent on the desk edge, reclining in his chair, crossing her long legs somewhat smugly.

Philip watched her, his tail swishing behind him in annoyance. He grabbed the paper up, glancing over it. Well, it was good information at least. "Any names?" he asked, voice showing his annoyance at her position. "Sit in my chair again, and I won't pay you," he informed her, glancing over the paper.

Bombalurina chuckled, lifting from his chair to perch on the desk, mock jazz hands gesturing to his now free Gossip-throne. "As I said, I don't know any bigshots in town...Hence the pictures. I'm sure you'll place them." She smiled, glancing down at the notes on each cat's markings and colourings. Any gossip-monger worth his salt should be able to weasle some sort of name from the description.

He looked over the pictures again, still a little tense with her sitting all over his things, but it was easier to deal with now she was out of the chair. "I see several of note," he said finally. "But missing out some big players. How long were you there?"

"Too long; two hours." Bombi shook her head lightly, noting his unease at her prescence, smirking slightly as she readjusted herself to sit on a manilla folder, just for kicks.
