Mungojerrie Wheeler stepped into the Police Department trying desperately to not let his discomfort with this arrangement show. He needed to know who that cat was from last night. He approached the front desk. "'Scuse me?"

The secretary glanced up. "Can we help you?" she asked, paying more attention to her paperwork than the cat in front of her.

She glanced up at that. "Oh, you mean the Commissioner? He should be in, it's his office there two doors down to the left."

Jerrie's ears fluttered back at that. The Commissioner? "Thanks." He slipped over to the office, knocking lightly on the door.

Sonya glanced up from his mostly clean desk, since he had finally managed to organize the place. His coffee cup was running low though, which was quite the annoyance. "Come in," he said, frowning at the door.

Jerrie hesitated a moment, he'd been half hoping the secretary had been wrong. He opened the door and stepped into the office. "C'mmissioner Vlask?"

Sonya paused for a long minute at seeing the other tom. "... Yes?" he asked, trying to figure out what the hell the other was doing here.

He could do this. He didn't want to do this. Great. "I..." He steeled himself, swallowing his pride. "I wanted t' apologize f' last night."

"Well," Sonya said slowly, eying him again. "Thank you. Though, since I walked away without being hit, it was a better end to the night than I was expecting, after Teazer informed me that was likely to happen." Perhaps it was not a terribly tactful thing to say.

Jerrie's ears lay back at that, his eyes narrowing, but he took a calming breath. "I also wanted t' thank y' for seein' 'er safe home."

Sonya noticed his ears go back and could have sighed. "You are welcome," he said quietly. "I have seen too much in this town to have been comfortable with her walking home alone at night."

Jerrie studied the other cat for a long moment. "Well, thanks any'ow." He paused another moment, trying to figure out if there was a way to be tactful about this. Probably just by not saying what he was thinking. "Lotta cats wouldn' a done anythin'."

Sonya nodded, though his ear flickered. He was not entirely sure what Jerrie meant by a statement like that. "I would rather be sure she got home safely than worry about it," he settled for finally. "And I'm not a lot of the cats around here."

Jerrie nodded slightly, briefly motioning around the office. "So I see." He paused, but determined that if Teazer was denying anything then likely the Police Commissioner--oh Cat the Police Commissioner--didn't recognize it either. Maybe he was just being paranoid. That was probably it.
