Sonya laughed softly at that, settling farther back into his chair, forcing himself to relax. The coffee and calm companionship were certainly helping that. "Thank you," he said, taking a swallow of warm liquid. The warmth seeped through him, dispelling some of the chill of the last several days, created partially by standing down at the docks far too often.

Lou nodded slightly, sipping at his coffee. "You're welcome." He looked around. "Sometimes you just need to get out and take a couple minutes."

"It is rather easy to forget that sometimes," Sonya murmured. "You are a very wise cat to remember that."

Lou shrugged. "I dunno about wise. I just know life can end faster than we like to think" There was a momentary shadow that flickered in his green eyes as he continued "so I'd rather not spend it worryin' and th' like."

Sonya titled his head, considering the other. "That's true," he said finally. "It is certainly a good philosophy to hold." One he never could, but he respected those able to do what he could not.

Lou turned his attention to his nearly empty coffee cup, finishing it off as he did what he coud to dispell the memories that had arisen. "Yeah, good philosophy, but difficult practice."

"Aren't all the worthy things though? Difficult? We do the best we can, and it's better to do the best with something that at least is worthwhile," Sonya said and decided he needed more sleep. Or more coffee. He figured sleep would be healthier though.

"Very true." Lou set his cup aside, he really ought to go make sure the Chrysalis was set for that night's crowd.

Sonya sighed, finishing his coffee, and missing the warmth of it already. The company and the coffee had helped though, and he was actually beginning to think that sleep might happen that night after all. "Well," he said softly. "Thank you again for letting me unload upon you, but you're right... I should sleep. I should probably go and do that right now or I probably never will."

"Not a problem. You run into me and need to talk, feel free." He offered the other cat a slight smile. "Probably a good idea to get some sleep. Good luck with everything."

Sonya offered him a smile in return. "Thank you very much for the offer. That... helps. And thank you. Good luck with your band as well," he said, rising slowly, feeling his body ache a little.

Lou rose as well, setting down the money for the coffees and pulling on his overcoat. "Thanks. Have a good night."

"And you as well," he said, noticing the other paying for the coffee and barely frowning. "Play well tonight," he added, smiling and tipping his hat to the other tom. He turned to leave the cafe.

Lou touched the brim of his hat in response, a smile playing around his lips. "Thanks. See you 'round."

"I do hope so," Sonya replied, offering one last smile before slipping out.
