Tugger wasn't really sure where he was running to (or indeed, precisely why) and he still wasn't that familiar with the docks, if he wasn't careful he'd go running straight into the water, the blue lights in the mist, rain and darkness doing nothing to help his sense of direction.
In fact, Tugger didn't even get anywhere near the quayside, his foot slipping on the wet paving he pitched forward. Landing on his forearms her felt stone scrape the skin beneath his fur followed by a degree of numbness from the cold, soaked ground.

Sonya swore as he looked the scene over. Well, so much for getting sleep that night. He turned his head as he heard a couple officers yelling about that cat who had run. Seriously, did they never learn? You did not run from the cops.

Tugger wasn't getting up right away anyway, the fall had winded him, and he was still gasping for air on the ground when he became dimly aware of being roughtly grabbed and hauled to his feet. For a moment, he just allowed the officers holding him to support him anyway, still waiting for breath to return properly to his lungs.
They've got nothin' on me, an' I did nothin' wrong, they'll hafta' let me go.... If they don't Munk's gonna kill me!

Sonya turned when his officers dragged the offending cat back toward the scene. He pulled his coat collar up further against the chill in the area. "Who are you?" he demanded of the tom.

Breath finally returning, Tugger didn't bother to make a second attempt to get away as he was led over to the Comissoner, he knew there was no point now, better to co-operate and hope they realised whatever had happened was not his doing. He opened his mouth to answer, but the words stuck in his throat as he caught sight of the crime scene behind Sonya.
Cat, tell me you didn't, Mac!

Sonya frowned. On one hand, the cat before him looked far too shocked to possibly have done the murder itself, but he was the closest one to the scene, and he had run. Probably best to take him in for some form of questioning. "Your name?" he asked again.

"Tugger," a pause, "I mean Rum Tum Tugger," inwardly he cringed at the sound of his own full first name, "Tugger Hollister."

Sonya took a long blink. "So, let me see if I got this right, Rum Tum Tugger Hollister?"

Tugger nodded wearily, "You got it." a pause, "I prefer Tugger, if it's all the same t'you."

Sonya nodded. "All the same to me," he agreed. "Tugger. Alright then, you were seen running from the scene of a crime. You have anything to say about that?"

Tugger thought for a minute then sighed. He shook his head, sending raindrops scattering in all directions. "Not really." he had a funny feeling both his brothers would have advised him to keep quiet until he had a lawyer present. In his case he supposed that meant Munkustrap. Great, he *is* gonna kill me.
"Don't I have the 'right to remain silent' or whatever y'call it?" he tried not to sound rude as he said it, it wasn't that he didn't want to co-operate, but he didn't entirely trust himself not to say something stupid.

Sonya raised his eyebrows. "If you want to look suspicious you're more than welcome to," he said. He nodded to the other officers. "Take him to the station for questioning, would you? I'll get back there when we finish looking at the evidence here."

Well done Tugger, you've screwed up again.
Tugger took a last look back at Sonya and the crime scene as he allowed himself to be led away, catching sight of the body again, he wished he hadn't. Was that really his brother's doing? He's heard the stories, of course he had, but somehow he'd never really associated Macavity Hollister, dark mobster of the tales, as the same cat he knew to be his eldest brother.
((exit Tugger))

Sonya shook his head, watching as the tom was led away, before turning back to the scene. Well, this was the second murder of this type in the last week. Frowning, he knelt down to give the body a closer look and wished he had not. Rising, he barked some orders, and turned to get in his car, heading back to the station. Apparently sleep was just not going to be in his future.
