Mac growled at the back of his throat. "Make a target out of ye, great plan. And why do people think they can get away with lying anyhow? It's obvious when they do and yet they keep doin' it."

Tugger's tail swished in irritation, sprinkling water droplets everywhere, he unconciously wrapped it around himself, before realising how wet he was and shaking the water from his mane and headfur as well. He turned back to Macavity, arms still folded in some small defiance, depite how pathetic his throughly soggy apperance was making him look, "I dunno what you're talkin' about, like I said, things have been fine."

"Stop. Lying," Mac growled, pacing forward a little his tail swinging behind him, raised in irritation. "Things 'ave never been fine in that house and you look terrible," he said, circling around his younger brother and taking what looked like a blow to the back of the head in. He came to a stop when he was in front of the other again.

The maned tomcat flinched ever so slightly at the words, coving it by unfolding his arms and folding them again, as if to re-illiterate his defiance.
"Gee thanks." Tugger glared at his brother, waiting for another scathing comment as Macavity seemed to finish his tour of inspection, "What?"

Considering what to say, Mac crossing his own arms, tilting his hip out slightly. "Still waitin' for an answer," he said. "How've you been?"

"Well you'll be waiting a long time then!" Tugger retorted, he was silent for a while until, "Life's life," he added finally, not meeting Macavity's eyes, "it could be worse. What d'you want me to say? "he was still focusing in his feet, "Ain't much's changed since you left, except the place feels smaller, oddly enough."

Mac considered that. Why hadn't he killed his father yet? He was sure he had some reason or another for it, but at the moment couldn't think of it. "Hm," he said, looking the other over again. "You shouldn' be there."

Tugger shrugged, sprinkling more water droplets from his mane, though something in Macavity's words reminded him of his conversation yesterday with Mistoffelees. "Well I ain't got much choice, all told. Leastways, not at the moment."

Macavity spent a long moment thinking. "Hmm."

Tugger said nothing, toying with his wet fur between two digits. He was still somewhat confused about his brother's sudden apperance and as a result, was letting the other mostly dictate the way things were going, albeit to his own annoyance.

Mac's ears flickered back when he heard the sounds of sirens approaching. Cursing under his breath, he turned back to Tugger. "Hate to run, baby brother, but I'd really rather not be 'round when they start lookin' for witnesses to question."

Tugger looked somewhat alarmed, "I shoulda' known you were here for some other reason than t'run into me." He looked around somewhat wildly, damn it, where was Mungo? The last thing Tugger needed was to get himself caught up in this.

Mac growled low in his throat. "Keep yourself safe," he said. "Don't follow me. Run the other way." And with that, he whirled, and faded back into the shadows.

Tugger looked around him again, about to say something else but finding his brother gone. He stood there for a moment, his brain still processing if he should follow Macavity's instruction or stay and wait for Mungo, after all, it wasn't like he had been doing anything wrong here, was it?
He could hear the sirens getting closer, the surrounding mist taking on an odd flickering blue glow. Somewhere around there was the sound of a car door closing and he saw figures silloetted in the blue light. A torch was flashed in his direction, and a cry went up, "Hey, you!"
Tugger panicked at that, and too late, Macavity's instruction kicked in and he started to run.

Sonya frowned when he saw the cat turn and run. Why the hell were they stupid enough to think running would help them at all? He motioned a couple officers after him, as he turned to look at the murder scene, feeling a little sick to his stomach. It looked an awful lot like the one from a couple days ago...
