Sonya rubbed a paw over his face and swore under his breath. His leg ached far more today than it had last night when he was too tired to notice. Now it was a constant throb, distracting him. Sighing, he glanced around the crime scene, eyes skidding over the bloody corpse. No clues, no witnesses, nothing. Whoever had done this had done it well.
Still cursing, he turned away from the scene, scanning the area.

Lady Griddlebone stepped out of the Fishbone up the street, locking it behind her--she had a few things to get from downtown before they opened that night. She turned and started up the street, pausing as she saw the cops there. Well, not like she was doing anything illegal, at the moment anyhow.

Sonya frowned at the queen. "Hey," he called out, walking toward her. "Do you live or work around here?"

She looked him over and nodded. "Both. Why?"

"There was a murder here, and we need any help we can get," he said. "Did you hear anything, or know of anyone who might have heard anything?"

The white queen shook her head. "No. Honestly I didn't, but I'll give you a tip. You look and sound like too much of a cop. No one else 'round here will talk to you."

Sonya blinked at her. "I am a cop," he said, brain not processing her statement. "Why would I not look or sound like one?"

"Because, handsome, 'round here cats don't talk to cops. It's bad for your health."

Sonya blinked again, and again at the inclusion of handsome. "Ah," he said. "I'll try to keep that in mind." Bad for your health? He did not think he was bad for anyone's health.

"I'll ask around though, see if anycat did see anything. If I hear something I'll let you know, hm?" She offered.

Sonya nodded. "Thank you very much. If you can find anything, I'll be sure to give you warning the next time the Fishbone is in danger of being raided."

Griddlebonw looked taken aback at that, but only for a moment. She offered him a thin smile in response. "I'll see what I can do. WHo do I get the information to?"

Sonya offered a tired smile in return. "Me, preferably. Sonya Vlask, Police Commissioner. If you don't want to bring it in yourself, find someone to run it to the PD, and leave it with the secretary for me."

What had she walked in to the middle of? "Alright, I'll be seeing you soon then. ANy information so I can have some idea of what I'm looking for?"

Sonya glanced back at the scene. "We haven't been able to identify the victim yet, but he looks like he was a worker down here. Murdered fairly brutally, not by someone who wanted to hide it. Can't tell if it was a crime of passion or someone with a grudge. If you want, you can look over the scene, as long as you don't touch anything of course."
