Russell's ear flicked and he cast his gaze back behind him at the crime scene for a brief moment. "We pay our respects and move on. Et doesn't do well to dwell on what has already passed." The tortie looked back at Sonya, a little less chirpier than before and his eyes appeared more solemn. "I learned that when my brother died." The last part was muttered as an after thought and Russell doubted if the Commissioner would even pick it up. Giving himself a quick shake of the head, the shorter tom's smile reappeared. "You sure I won't be able to drag you away?"

Sonya gaped at him a moment. "It is my job to dwell on what has passed," he snapped. "I can not pay my respects and move on when the killer is still out there. So no, you cannot drag me away and you cannot reply I have not lost people in my life too by throwing your brother out. That loss I suffered gave me an entirely different perspective on what to do when someone dies."

[Tsughi]

Russell thought about throwing out an 'Well your just as infuriating' but thought better about it. Simply he gave a heavy sigh and threw his hands up in defeat. "Fine," He said shortly.

"Fine?" Sonya repeated, still riding the edge of anger.

[Tsughi]

Russell's ears flickered and he thought about taking a step back, but remained where he was. "I could not think of anything else to say, 'onestly," He mumbled, arms and paws still raised defensively.

Sonya did roll his eyes then. "Then have you not heard the phrase not to say anything at all?" he asked. "Look, I have a job to do. I will always have a job to do. If you cannot handle that, then you are not really worth much are you?" There was an edge to what he was saying, almost as if Russell could not handle even this, then there really was no point to even considering a relationship, if he had been remotely considering the thought that is.

Instead of looking offended, the tortie simply tilted his head a little bit to the side, a smile creeping back up onto his face now that the moment of fright was over. "I can wait," Russell said simply, tail swishing behind him.

"Wait?" Sony asked with a small frown. "For what, the next case or the one after? What point would there be in waiting? This is my life."

[Tsughi]

"There are periods en between were you get time off, isn't there?" Russell asked and blinked at the taller tom, smirk still on his face. "You said et yourself, even as Commissioner you do get time off. I can wait for those times."

"To do what?" Sonya demanded, feeling confused by this entire ordeal.

[Tsughi]

Russell shrugged his shoulders with a small tilt of his head. "All kind of things," He said, the fairest hint of his soft purr in his voice. "Like.... Vist that new ice cream parlor?" The suggustion was fairly innocent compared the way he began the statement.

"Ice cream?" Sonya managed. "What are we, kits? Please," he shook his head and turned back toward the crime scene.

The tortie leaned over, trying to get back into the Commissioner's line of sight without really moving from where he was. "I 'appen to like ice cream," Russell stated a little indignantly. "And ef you are so picky we could always get some coffee as well. Though, visiting the cafe over and over again would get boring, no?"

"My job is exciting enough I do not mind boring in the rest of it," Sonya snapped, not quite looking over at the other again. "Besides, I still would prefer that to what kits do with their free time."

[Tsughi]

"But boring es still... boring," Russell stated with slightly pursed lips. "Perhaps et es possible to go to the cinema? You don't 'ave anyzing against films, do you?"
