Victoria had a corner in the Chrysalis. A gap really, where the tables around the room didn't reach all the way to the edge of the stage. From here, she could see Alonzo and he should be able to see her.
She liked talking to him. He was at least half the reason she'd started coming to the Chrysalis on a regular basis.
As she stood there, listening to the music and waiting for him to go on break she wondered if she would continue to come here. Now that she had a roof to live under she wouldn't need places like this to keep warm at night. She decided that she probably would, at least for a little while.

Still bouncing on his paws from the last set of music, Alonzo made his way out onto the floor, tail weaving behind him as he went. Head moving from side to side, he smiled as he spotted Victoria and made his way over. "Evenin'," he said, brogue thicker than usual that late at night.

"Evening." She said, smiling warmly as he approached. "The band is in fine form tonight."
I would miss him if I stopped coming here. The alcohol and her good fortune earlier made her a little bolder in her thoughts. Would he miss me?
((Quick question: Would the whole band break at once, or as individuals so there's never a complete break in the music? I was wondering if they'd have had the opportunity to dance, even if they might have been so far disinclined to do so.))

((There's two bands: they switch off. Lou's is the main band but it's been established before there's actually two for the speak.))
He offered her an easy enough smile, leaning against the wall. "Thanks. How's the evenin' treating you."

"Seems like today my luck finally turned. I ran into a friend who could use a secretary, and he's offered to help me find housing as well." The thought gave her an excess of energy that was currently sending shivers through her fur.

"Really?" he asked in surprise, eyes widening. "That's fantastic!"

"I'm just desperately trying not to-to second guess myself right now." She said as her smile turned nervous. "I mean, maybe I've just dreamed this whole day." Right. Frozen behind a dumpster or something last night. Only the little match girl had enough social skills to make a sale.

"I'm sure you didn't," he said with another grin. "It's not that late in the evening and your speech ain't slurred enough for it to be the drink. This is seriously amazing though, and entirely what you needed."

"I kind of feel like-like celebrating." She said, and felt herself blush a little at the admission. "I guess, I should wait and make sure this works out b-b-before I do that."

"No, we should definitely celebrate," Alonzo replied, nodding his head to his own declaration.

"I guess the question then is-is how. You've mentioned that you do-don't like dancing." She said, looking at the couples out on the floor having a ball.

"Well, it," he blinked, trying to process. "It's not so much as I don't like dancing as I'm... not all that good at it. But tonight I don't suppose that matters much does it?"

"Well I d-d-don't mind if-if you don't." She said smiling hopefully, "Strike while the iron's hot?"

"If you like," he said after a moment and offered her a smile, holding a paw out. His stance was wary, and fairly unsure but his tone was firm as was his intentions.

Victoria took his hand, and for a bright moment she saw a gracious handsome Tom inviting her to smile for him. It was a good moment, and Victoria wondered if she could continue to think of him as someone who could be more than a friend. Not that she didn't want him as a friend as well, but, oh well. She cut the train of thought off before she could tangle herself in it.
