He sighed. "Haven't I been sayin' that since I walked in?" he asked, disentangling his arm and heading for the bedroom, pulling off his jacket and suspenders as he went.

He paused to look back at her, and finally offered her a small smile. "Of course," he murmured. "I'm sorry, love. It's been a lon' night."

Slipping out of the her dressing gown, Griddlebone returned to bed, "It's alright, Mac. I'm sorry if I'm pressing at all."

He considered a moment before continuing undressing, sliding in under the covers. "Just... do you really need ta hear the details of my work?" he asked, voice low. "Do you really?"

She shook her head, murmuring, "No. I don't. I would, though, like some knowledge of when you think you'll be back or where you'll be generally. If only so I don't stay up half the night."

Rolling over, he smoothed a paw across her hair. "Sorry," he said, not quite an apology for his own actions, but a recognition of having distressed her.

"Good," he rumbled, stroking her hair again before moving off slightly. Not far, and certainly not out of the bed but there was distance between them.

Her ears flicked back at that, but she let him draw back and settled back to try and sleep, though she wasn't certain she'd manage it.
