Slois walked up the steps of the Palace a bit nervously. He wasn't really sure what Mistoffelees had in mind when he offered him the job, but he hoped he wouldn't give him anything demeaning at least.
For the second time in his life, he opened the doors and slipped into the building.
"Hello?" He called out as he walked over the familiar threshold.
((You know it's bad when you start your post as [ color=9932cc ] Russ- before you realize that's the wrong character))

There was a brief moment when several of the workers turned to glance at him in confusion before Mistoffelees weaved his way over. "Good evening," he said, stopping in front of the other. He wasn't sure whether to say he was glad to see the other but he offered him a smile.
((Oh, I have mixed up Mac, Misto and Sonya so many times color code wise it's not even funny.))

Slois' tail flickered as everyone's attention was suddenly on him. He looked almost relieved when he saw the familiar face of Mistoffelees. "Good Evening," He repeated, decuding to try and keep in at nuetral as possible.

The smaller cat looked him over a moment. "There are several positions open right now," he said, slowly. "Waiter, doorman, and a few others. Is there a preference?" Personally he thought the idea of the other as doorman ironic enough to be laughable.

The tabby paused to consider. He wasn't too keen on the idea of being a door man so... "Waiter?" He asked more than he stated.

Mistoffelees nodded, leading him back toward the kitchen. "You'll have to have some training," he explained. "A trial run, things like that."

"Sounds like fun," Slois replied as he followed the other.

"A funny definition of fun," Mistoffelees murmured, weaving through the Palace.

Slois shrugged his shoulders. If his sarcasm was lost, then so be it. He continued to follow Mistoffelees in silence.

Offering him a faint smile and a shrug, Mistoffelees dropped Slois off at the kitchen area, saying a few soft instructions to the head waiter about what to do for the evening before stepping back out onto the floor, preparing himself to play host, once again, to the upper crust of Felidae.

The tabby entered the kitchen to be rapidly put to a uniform and ran through all the operations of the kitchen a waiter needed to know. It was fast and Slois stumbled a few times but all and all he thought he did pretty well for himself. He'd get the hang of this.
As the night wore on, he became more comfortable with this new position and as he wisked around, he was actually smiling half the time. Most of the other staff were pretty okay by his standards- especially that cute waitress- and he liked that. Even the customers were pretty decent, though their kind were sprinkled with the difficult types of cats sometimes.
Eventually the rush did end and everyone began to trickle out one by one. The employees began to clear off the tables and take off their aprons to don their usual clothing. Soon enough, Slois was back in his pinstriped jacket and standing off to the side to watch the rest of the employees leave, waving and nodding to the few he had met as they went on thier way.

Standing in the doorway between the entry hall and the main floor, Mistoffelees ran a paw down a checklist, not really paying attention to anycat else, but glad the evening was once again over.

Growing tired of watching the cats leave, Slois spotted Mistoffelees and made his way over to the shorter black tom. A nagging sense in the back of his mind told him that's what Mistoffelees should have been doing the other night, but he and his twin had shown up. "Hey," He said quietly, fighting away straying thoughts.

That got the smaller tom to glance up, paw stopping to mark his place. "Hey," he said, mind still elsewhere. "Tonight go well then?"

Slois nodded his head slowly in comfirmation, a little reluctant to admit that it wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it was going to turn out. "Yes," He answered and looked down at the paper in Mistoffelees' hand. "What's that?"
