"Probably not," Sonya replied. "And certainly not until after you actually told me what you said." The sentence had been too long after all.

"'Yes,'" Russell hoped that was all he knew of the French language. "'It es the day of giftgiving, is it not?'" He hoped the quickly developed lie was good enough for the other tom.

"Only between lovers," Sonya replied. "And my pocketbook hardly counts as a gift. What exactly are you here for?"

Russell work up the most hurt expression he could muster. "You wound me," He said and put a paw over his chest as though Sonya had just done that. "I came to return your possession." There was a certain feral way the tortie said 'possession'.

Sonya paused, looking him over and trying not to read anything into that last word. "Then why ask to come inside? For coffee?"

"Like someone I know once said: 'I never turn away a cup of coffee," Russell said, all smiles, while his tail swished behind him leisurely.

Narrowing his eyes, Sonya considered the other. "That was not quite an offer," he said, tail swishing behind him in agitation.

The tortie's eyes slipped into a half-mast slowly and his grin took on a distracted mood. "And what es a proper offer?" He asked quietly, his bright blue eyes looking at Sonya's gold ones at an upward angle.

Sonya frowned. "Proper offer?" he said in confusion. "I have no intention of giving any sort of offer into my own home."

Russell tilted his head slightly tot the left and his tail wrapped lazily around his waist. "Not even for a small cup on coffee?" His voice grew into a soft rumbling purr by the time he finished the sentence. "I even have coffee." Coffee he had intended to bring to his own home, but he decided it was for a worthy cause

"You... you brought coffee?" Sonya asked, leaning away from him slightly.

"Mmhmm, I do," Russell's tone was still silky smooth. He fiddled with a few of his pockets before producing said coffee. His tail tip flicked from where it rested on his abdomen, right above the waistline of his pants.

Sonya's eyes were drawn to where the motion was and he snapped them back up. Every part of him thought this was a bad idea but he turned back to the door, unlocking it finally and motioning the other tom to follow him.

Russell stepped into the appartment with the faintest of triumphant smiles lighting his features. The tom was mildly surprised by how furnished the apartment was. If Russell didn't know it was an apartment he was have guessed it was some high middle-classtom's home.
The tortie's tail slowly unwound from his waist as he sought a table to put his coffee on. Spotting one, he began to make his way over to it. As he walked his tail rose at a leisurely pace behind him. By the time he reached the table his tail was nearly perpendicular to the floor. Placing his package of coffee down, Russell made sure to lean forward just slightly enough to appear natural. He put his paws on the table on either side of the coffee before he tilted his head to look over his shoulder. "Et es a wonderful place you have here."

((Listening to instrumentals from West Side Story while writing this is... very interesting. And yet somewhat fitting.))
Sonya blinked once at that particular pose the other was exhibiting, before taking off his coat and hat, hanging them up on the coat rack by the door. "It is well enough," he replied, walking forward quickly to take the coffee from the table and moving just as quickly into the kitchen. "It is small," he added, setting the hot water on.
