'That's a shame- I'm a bit similar, sir. That one time I danced with someone was because of my brother literally pushing me at her!' Pounce laughed. 'Right bugger he was; thought it was dead funny just because I was blushing to my whiskers!'

That got a slow smile out of Alonzo, and he nodded, leaning against the bar. "And after that, was it easier for you to dance with queens?"

Pounce shook his head. 'Lord no. Whole thing practically traumatised me. But it's different in a small community- people you know an' have grown up with- it's weird, like.' He shrugged. 'Besides; I don't reckon I was very good at dancin' an' all- she married my brother!' He snorted in laughter.

That got a raised brow from Alonzo, but he nodded, trying to look sage about it. "Well, won't have that problem here much, eh? Large community and I know I didn't grow up with any of them."

'Yes I suppose not. Not like I'll be doing much of anything with anyone anytime soon though.' He shrugged, scratching at the base of his ear. 'For all that its a large community I've barely met anyone yet!'

'It's harder than you'd expect actually!' Pounce replied, but smiled at the other. 'Yes I suppose that's true. I bet you've met loads of cats though- you're a friendly, well groomed tom...' He turned to put away the glass and bottle that were still out on the bar.

Pounce tipped his head to the side. 'I doubt the ladies would agree with you there, pal!' He noticed the other tom's hesitancy and laughed loudly, hoping to put him at ease.

Pounce nodded. 'You've probably got more experience with that than I do, Mr O-Neal. I defer to you.' He flicked at a glass, making it ring and giggled low in his throat. The vibrations he created made his claw tickle. He turned to Alonzo, trying to keep a buge grin off his face, checking to see if the other tom had noticed this amusing development.

Pounce shrugged. 'I was once told that you should try something new everyday- just to make sure you keep living your life and not just getting through it day by day. Leastways- it was something like that. It was my nan that told me and she was a very wise woman; lived by sayings like that, she did. I think on the day she died her ''new thing'' was actually painting a picture!'
Pounce looked sideways at Alonzo, considering the other tom. 'Here how about you try dancing with somecat tonight? I'm sure you'll be allowed at least one song off- let that be your ''new thing'' for the day.'
He leant back on the cabinet behind him, waiting for Alonzo's response.
