"Of you? Probably," Mistoffelees said, though he willingly went back to cuddling against Coricopat's chest.

Coricopat ran a paw absently over Mistoffelees' ears, "Then it can certainly wait. I would rather stay here for a bit longer and rush through that if need be."

Mistoffelees hummed, ear flickering at the touch even as he leaned up to it. "What, waste the day away in bed?"

"Yes, that. I miss having the remotest possibility of doing that."

He took a deep breath, holding onto Coricopat for a moment. "Well," he finally declared, sitting back up and dragging the sheet with him as a make shift covering. "At least open your gifts in bed then." Fetching the packages, he dropped them on the bed and crawled back onto it.

Coricopat leaned over, reaching into the drawer of his side table and withdrew a simple package. He offered it to Mistoffelees, "Only if you do as well."

"I suppose I could do that," Mistoffelees murmured, exchanging the two packages for the one. "As long as it's not an attempt to put color in my wardrobe."

That earned a bit of a smirk as Coricopat turned his attention to opening the gifts, "I tell him every year I don't want anything and every year I end up with something. Perhaps I should just give up on protesting."

"Who, Macavity? Yeah, it would probably be best to stop protesting," Mistoffelees said, considering the brightly wrapped package Macavity had addressed to him. "Do you think he wraps everything himself? Because if so, that's sorta scary he's so good at it." Opening that one first, he considered the green tie nestled in the box. "Hm. So he was the one trying to get me in more color this year. Interesting."

Coricopat smiled a bit, "I think he does wrap everything himself, but I'm not sure. It's a nice green at least."

Mistoffelees gave his lover a long look. "A nice green, sure. You open things now."

Coricopat opened the gift from Mac first, looking it over, "A date book. With gold leaf. I do sometimes wonder about him."

"I don't know, it seems fairly thoughtful," Mistoffelees said, turning the gift from Coricopat around in his paws but not yet moving to open it. "Date books can be useful and all that. It's fancy if nothing else."

"They can be, yes, but the state of it is so...extravagant really."

Mistoffelees laughed at that. "Yeah, well, it's Macavity. I think he likes it being so extravagant. I mean, just think about his New Year's Balls. They're the very definition of it, yeah?"
