Kyera Ladeaux grinned to herself as settled on the edge of the cold bench. She had been in such a good mood all day and she was excited to be practicing the happy tunes in her head with her bass clarinet. She listened closely as she pulled it out and inspected it, making sure no cats were around to be bothered before placing the instruments to her lips and beginning to play.

Lou made his way through the park, easing himself into the day, though it was well past noon. He really should turn his steps toward the Chrysalis soon, but for the moment he was more than willing to walk through the crisp air. His ears tilted toward the sound of a musician playing and he quietly strolled in that direction, approaching the young queen he could see with a bass clarinet. Not a usual instrument to hear, but it was played pretty well.

Kyera heard the pawsteps approach and pause, but she didn't stop playing until the piece was completed. She gave a small grin as she pulled the clarinet from her mouth. "Enjoying the music?" she asked softly, hoping she hadn't missed the pawsteps walking away and she wasn't talking to thin air . . . again.

Lou smiled a bit at that, "Yes, it's quite good, actually. I haven't heard anyone coax tunes like that from one of those in a while."

Kyera grinned slightly in relief and at the compliment. "Thank you," she said. "I don't know many cats who enjoy these melodies, to be honest."

"It's the quality of playin' I listen for, not always the content," Lou answered with a shrug. "Though I certainly don't mind the melody either."

"You sound like quite the musician," Kyera commented. "A composer or teacher, perhaps?"

"Nothing like that. Bandleader, actually."

He shrugged, "It can be. It can be a hassle, too."

Kyera nodded. "Isn't everything, though?" she said with a shrug.

"I suppose that's true in some ways."

Kyera grinned. "Well, I hate to keep you," she said, pulling her clarinet back out. "It was talking with you."
