That got another long blink out of Clara as she mentally checked off the fact the heir did not get along with Jones. "Locking him out seems extreme though," she murmured. "I believe relationally challenged is the kindest thing I ever heard about Jones. I'm surprised he was not kinder to his heir, however."

Jerrie shrugged, "Jones was terrified a gettin' sick, an' Misto wanted t' help, so Jones locked 'im out. Besides, I get th' feelin' Jones was expectin' t' live f'ever."

"Scared of the fever but believing he'd live forever," she murmured and shook her head. "Perhaps his arrogance really did know no bounds. But why would you say he expected to live forever?"

She blinked once and shook her head. "My apologies. He's just become such a public figure suddenly, and no one seems to know anything about him. Curiosity is quite great at the moment is all."

"Well," she smiled faintly. "Society's like that. It's not quite his own fault for being so private, but it's certainly not helping his own case. If people sense a mystery, they just want to know more. I would not want to be in his position though."

Jerrie nodded, "Misto's always played 'is cards close t' 'is chest. He's a good cat though."

She smiled faintly. "It's good to hear such cats exist," she murmured. "At least I only have to deal with the fact that when I go out in public my dress is questioned but not much else. I wish him luck then." She paused another beat. "But you've been fine of late?"

"Yes," she replied. "I've been healing and working. Shopping for a dress which always seems to be the most frustrating of afternoons."
