Purring, he returned the kiss, paws coming up to unclasp the gold necklace she'd been wearing that night, setting on his desk.

Purring still, Macavity guided her back toward the bedroom, starting to undo the fastenings of her dress along the way. "You stayin' the whole night?" he murmured into her ear.

Grinning, Mac reached his paws over to help with the cuff links, dropping them next to the necklace on the desk, leaving his tie on a chair. "From time to time," he agreed.

She drew him back into the bedroom by his lapels before easing the shirt from his shoulders, kissing the corner of his mouth.

Grids woke the next morning, earlier than she usually did when sleeping alone. She tilted her head to look up at the red tabby beside her, "Good morning, Mac."

"Mornin'," he greeted, nuzzling her neck. He'd been awake for a while, but not nearly as long as he would wake up when they first started sharing a bed. His body was slowly but surely adjusting to actually getting a good night's sleep and not waking up to take care of business at all hours. "Sleep well?"
