"Hm. Can't see that paying very well. Though depending on where you work I suppose that would change."

"Yeah, well," Misto could feel his face heat up. "It gets me through," he said, picking up the hat beside him and jingling it a bit. "But I'm certainly looking for other stuff too. Card tricks don't bring in enough for any sort of decent life."

Coricopat took the none-too-subtle hint and found some money which he dropped into the hat in the other cat's paw. "There are always jobs available around the city." The implied perhaps you're not looking in the right places/hard enough was almost audible in his tone.

"Yeah," Misto agreed, his face heating up a bit again. "There certainly are, and someone on the payroll of the DA would certainly know, but... things don't always work out."

Coricopat arched an eyebrow at that. "I meant odd-jobs, not things that require a rediculous amount of schooling."

"Ah," Misto said, hunching his shoulders a little. "Yeah, I've done quite a few of those in the last year or so. I find it's just as good playing card tricks."

Cori nodded slightly again. "I see. Well, good luck to you." He reached into his interior pocket and withdrew a business card, holding it between the first and middle claws of his right paw. "If you need a job heres my card. Who knows, I may know something you'd do as well as you do magic."

Misto blinked wide eyed at the card as he reached forward to take it. "T-thank you," he said, a little shocked.

Coricopat nodded once, a slow inclination of his head that seemed almost like a slight bow. "Don't mention it. You've got potential, and a good location here. Do you usually perform at this corner?" He'd have to consider exactly what good the tom before him could do, and he needed to know how to get ahold of him rather than wait for the magician to feel he needed a job.

Misto nodded. "Most days, yeah. Usually except the weekends."

"Perfect." The lawyer glanced at the courthouse clock. He ought to be going. "I don't believe I got your name."

Misto held out his hand. "Mistoffelees Quaxo," he said, grinning. "I think I missed yours too, though you being the Assistant DA, I guess I should know it already huh?"

The mottled tom shook the offered hand as he replied. "Not neccessarily, I try to keep the use of my name to a minimum. Coricopat Zimmerman."

"Well, it's very nice to meet you Mr. Zimmerman," Misto grinned as he let the other's hand drop.

"And you. Now, I'd best get back to the office. Good luck to you, sir."
