Strolling through the Tribune's main office, Bombalurina kept her lazy smile upon her face. Knocking on a certain tom's door-frame, she crooned silkily. "Good Morning, Mr. Hunt. Got any tips that need the flash...of a camera?" Bast, she felt good about herself today. Let's see who's in a mood.

Philip looked up, eyebrows arching slightly. "Ah, Miss Thompson. The day has barely begun, but you seem to be on top of things."

"Well, you know what they say. The early bird and the worm and all that jazz. Got any stories? I tried to get into the police station to sneak a peak at that serial killer but the coppers were quite stingy and told me to get lost." She jutted out her lips in an over-exaggerated sulk.

Philip arched a brow at that. "And how many days ago was this? The news of his death has been out for a while... You do read our own paper, don't you?"

"Why, you're the first cat I could complain to, dear Mr. Hunt! Nobody likes a nosy photographer and the few cats I tried to complain to looked at me like I was crazy. Ah, a photograph of the killer's corpse would have been a fun one for the front page, don't you think? Wonder if anyone got an angle on the Jones body... Anyway, I've had a few chances since then to snag photographs here and there but I'm looking for a new scoop today. So, any bites?"

"I believe Bustopher Jones' funeral is tomorrow," he replied. "And some new cats have been spotted in all the fashionable places. Otherwise? Outside of crime, it's a slow week." He more and more was learning to regret picking this particular photographer off the streets.

She tapped a paw to her chin, thinking aloud. "Funeral, huh? Properly dreary, that. Wonder if I can catch a few tears for the camera. It might make good copy or just limp scandal, since everybody knew the old fatso was a son of a bitch. Oh, well." She shrugged nonchalantly. "Though, I must wonder if anyone's got a photo of his heir yet..."

"Is he the confirmed heir?" Philip asked. "He's the only living relative true, but no details about Jones' will have come out. I think they're going to court over it this week actually."

Bombalurina grinned and rubbed her paws together gleefully. "Now there is something I can use. The mourning possible heir goes to court with funeral pictures to match! That's just keen...Hullo, who's this?" She glanced out on to the main floor of the office, where a young chocolate brown queen with a mostly hidden bandage on her tail was speaking to one of the copy boys. "Pretty little thing, wonder what she's doing here? Whoops-a-daisy, she's coming this way. Friend of yours, Mr. Hunt?"

Philip managed not to react. "Yes. Now, if you don't mind Miss Thompson, do make yourself scarce."

Bombalurina humphed. "Oh, you're no fun. Fine fine, I'll scram. But make sure you let me know the next time a photo opportunity shows up, all right, Mr. H?" She sashayed her way out of the office and past the young queen. "He's all yours, miss."
[[Exeunt Bombalurina]]
Maggie did not manage to stifle all of her startled reaction, staring wide-eyed as the tall, red queen swept past her. Not replying beyond a noncommittal murmur, she recomposed herself and entered the tom's office, walking gingerly with her tail. She smiled weakly, a shadow of her normal beam. "Good morning, Mr. Hunt."

Philip glared after Bomba before turning his attention back to Maggie. "Ah, Maggie. Good day. And how are you feeling now?"

"I-I am better now. I can walk with less pain..." She hesitated for a moment and began again softer. "I wanted to thank you, Phillip. My uncles told me how you helped, with the ride to the hospital and all. Thank you. I am sorry that you had to find us like that, we must have looked a right fright." She shivered, rubbing her paw on her arm.

After a moment, Philip shrugged slightly. "It wasn't much, not really. I happened to have a car at a useful time, and hey, I hear helping others is good for one own's soul so I suppose it's not bad to do from time to time. Besides, you needed it."

Maggie smiled softly at that. "Still, it means the world to me. "
