After another brief hesitation, Coricopat leaned in, capturing Misto's lips in a light kiss.

Misto tried not to push into the kiss, letting Coricopat guide it. His paw did rise though, resting very lightly on the other's shoulder.

Cori broke away after a moment, visibly relaxed from his previous state. "I..." He didn't know what to follow that with and settled for a slight smile.

Misto smiled at him, letting his paw drop and regretting it a little. "I do love you, you know," he said, very softly. "I just... you don't have to, or anything, I just need to be able to say that. To make sure you know it."

Coricopat's gaze dropped at that. "I-I know. I-I..." He swallowed. Cat, this was idiotic, four words. Even just three. It wasn't that hard. The mottled cat took a deep breath. He could do this... "I love you, too."

Mistoffelees gaped at him for a moment, letting out a shaking breath. For the moment, he was a little too shocked to do much more.

Coricopat glanced away. He'd said it, he wasn't sure how good an idea that was, but he had said it.

"I..." Misto said reaching out a tentative paw, resting it on Coricopat's knee.
"Thank you," Misto said, voice barely above a whisper.

The lawyer glanced at the other, his own paw coming up to close over Misto's. He looked at him in confusion, "For what?"

Misto let out a careful breath, curling up against the other. Gently, he wrapped one paw around his waist and rested his head on the mottled tom's shoulder.

Cori ran his paw gently up and down Misto's arm. He leaned his head back against the back of the couch, a very faint purr thrumming in his chest.
