Tantomile, to her credit, let him finish, and her expression remained impassive. Even if a few of his words stung on a more personal note, she pushed them aside for the moment. Then, when he was finished, she carefully set aside her notebook and pen.
"You may well be right, but what I'm searching for is a way of helping that cat." She said finally, "You drew the parallel, so let me ask you if I may, what are you searching for?"

Brachen calmed at the words, waited a long time as he looked through the things that he wanted most. "Peace."

Tantomile nodded slowly, refraining from returning to the notebook just yet. "That's not a bad thing to look for. You expect to find it inside others?" in this case, she meant literally inside, rather like his description, as well as figuratively. She was interested to see which meaning he would take, or indeed, if he would pick up on the word's duality again.
If there was time, she wanted to steer things back to the route of his instability, the deaths of his family members, but given his previous reaction, she would have to go the long way round, and even then he might close back up on her. There was enough information for her report here, but given the time, she could add a lot more depth to it. She would continue until stopped anyway, there was more to be gleaned yet and on a level that lacked little emotion, curiosity. There might have been compassion, in some form, but to allow herself that at this stage, she felt would be foolish.

"It's quiet when I'm looking."

Munkustrap cast a wary glance toward the corridor and checked his pocket watch, "The officer's said we had til the hour. That's right about now. Thank you for your time, Dr. Zimmerman." His tone was clipped as he cut off any further questions she might have. She'd agitated his client more than he should have permitted, but he hadn't been given the opportunity to cut in.

Tantomile nodded at Brachan first, ignoring Munkustrap momentarily. She picked up her notebook again and scribbled a few last things down. Turning her gray eyes back on Brachan for a moment, she nodded to him, rising. "Thank you for allowing me to speak to you My Myre. I hope you're able to find your peace."
Then she turned to Munkustrap, "Very well Mr Hollister, you'll have my full report with your firm first thing in the morning. Though if you give me a moment of your time outside I can give you a brief summary of my professional opinion."

Munkus glanced at Brachen, personally he would prefer to make sure his client was ready for trial the next day. "I think the report will be adequate, Dr. Zimmerman, thank you."

Brachen smirked. "Tell me doc, what's the diagnosis?"

"As you wish," Tantomile put her notebook away, "goodnight then Mr Hollister."
She turned for the door, where a guard was now waiting, only pausing when Brachan spoke. "I'm sure Mr Hollister will grant you access to my completed assessment, should you wish to read it Mr Myre."
((Exit Tantomile))

"Goodnight, Dr. Zimmerman." Munkus turned to Brachen after motioning to the guard for ten more minutes.

Brachen smirked. "We don't stand a chance, do we?"

"Of winning? No. Of managing to get any permanent punishment held off? We've got a good chance."
