I can see Misto doing that in BatB verse, I really can. ::giggles:: Growltiger here gets it, merely because he loved Grids and his whole world which it seems he built around her just got ripped out from under him while he was away at sea and he has no idea why and he's reacting poorly. ((I suppose part of my gut reaction is that I'm hoping my brother and his girl don't fall into a situation like this since he'll be leaving for an extended period of time due to military commitments. And my brother and his girl have been together for about as long as Grids and 'Tiger were - or 'Tiger might have a few years on them. My brother has been with his girl for eight years - met their freshman year of college)) You do raise a good point in regards to Kirk and McCoy/Cori/Cohen. But, if my memory serves, Cori could work as McCoy in only one scenario - Mirror!Verse. (The "Mirror, Mirror" episode in TOS. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_Universe_(Star_Trek)) But then, that would be stretching it now, shifting over to Victorian!Verse poor Tumble - not sure what to make of Tugger being at /his/ pub. Poor kit. (I'd be happy if Tugger and Tumble ended up together again - even if Tumble is going "not happening" at the present) And I agree with Misto - drinks for everyone given Plato and Vic's nature (that poor queen is going to be in hell) ((And I do so love snarky!Misto when dealing with socialist!Tugger. He's precious)) And I do feel so sorry for Tumble - what with his stammer being set off by Tugger. Is it because of nerves or has he always had a stammer from when he was a kitten?

Grids on here made her choice because Mac gave her a choice. He treated her as though she had agency, whereas 'Tiger automatically assumed that she had been seduced away from him. She's less of an idol/object in Mac's care than she was in 'Tiger's.
Oh Victorian. Tugger and Tumble do entertain me (and my Tumble muse just freaked out in the back of my head at me for saying that.)
Tumble's stammer has existed since kittenhood, and is the most obvious tell in the world. He speaks clearly (through years of practice and schoolmasters) most of the time, but when flustered, nervous, lying about something crucial (e.g. Pounce being a Lord's son) or really not wanting to deal with the topic he stammers. It will probably settle down to just flustered and lying in a while, but he's still in the midst of "Oh God do not want to deal with life at this point." It's why he can go without stammering through a luncheon with Misto, Pounce, and Plato, but put him somewhere he's out of his element and suddenly he's stammering. The only reason his stammer showed up so little in BatB verse is because that particular version of the muse is far more self-assured than my usual ones.

Tugger tends to be aware that his grand gestures have consequences in BatBVerse so... he knows when he deserves to be slapped and I think Misto would be one of the few servants actually willing to do so.
See, I can't see him working in Mirrorverse either because Mirror!McCoy tortured people for a living and the one time you actually saw him, he was all but screeching at Spock and I can see Cori doing neither of those things.
Yeah, Misto can actually use Tumble's stammer, especially in Victorian, to figure out what's going on. Or if something's wrong and he knows when Tumble is lying.

::nods:: okay, I can see that with Cori/McCoy/Mirror!McCoy (it's been ages since I've watched TOS. My biases run the line of TOS/TNG and early DS9. Was not a fan of Voyager or Enterprise (the one with Archer)
And I think I found my favorite Misto/Cori exchange here:
it's so perfect for the two of them

Yeah... I'm pretty passionate about the original series and McCoy is probably my favorite fictional character of all time so... I might get a little over protective. XD Or at least react.
Aww, thank you! I enjoyed that entire scene.

It was the sweetest byplay I've seen between them so far :D I literally "aw"'ed when I read it (and it reminded me of a scene from Syfy Channel's attempt at Beauty and the Beast, which was an entirely strange kettle of fish. I forget who said which line but the byplay ran as thus: ) editted to add: if you like graphic novels, I know TOS had one (as well did TNG - as seen here: www.barnesandnoble.com/s/?store=book&sid=583434)

Aw'ing is always approved of.
Yeah, there have been a lot of TOS graphic novels. A lot of the newer ones are honestly not so good, but some issues from the 70s/80s are decent. Mostly the 80s. Some really good novels came out of the 80s too. Occurs to me, glancing around my desk, it's terribly obvious what a Star Trek nerd I am: I have a McCoy glass, a Spock action figure, and a little Enterprise model. Yeah....

I'll see your Star Trek nerd and raise you an anime/manga one (with a decided focus on Naruto at the moment. Various little action figures, two pins, a headband, artbook, anime guides, few volumes of the anime and manga, and plushies. No, not a large Naruto geek at all.. ::sheepish:: okay, so I am. But I do enjoy other series as well, mostly the older stuff like Voltron, Macross, Gatchaman, Tekkaman, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, to name a few)
And I did recall reading a few of the novels - I remember reading a slightly Spock centric one years ago (well, read a little of it since my father had taken it out of the library). I can't remember if it was written by Shatner or not.

Well, I forgot my battery powered Tribble ((Which will actually be featured in a story at one point...)). Besides, most of my stuff is at home. I only brought up the Star Trek stuff, the Dalek, and the Darth Vader bobble head. He bobbles at me in an attempt to remind me to do my homework.
There were so many written about Spock...

::is totally jealous:: I have wanted a Tribble for years (I think we named one of the Hamsterian Horde Tribble - the reason it was dubbed the Hamsterian Horde is, well, it's very hard to determine gender on Russian Dwarves, I was told I had two brother by the pet store... I had 50 by that Easter)
I think the book started out while he was on Vulcan, in the school system there. I'm straining my memory at this point

Oh, and I do love the Halloween bits in Buffy!verse - Misto is so damn adorable. And poor Cori - I think he might have lost an hour or two out of his life from the scare Misto gave him

It's like Halloween came early and I got the best bits of candy (if that makes sense, I'm still not fully awake due to the fact that my dogs are barking their fool heads off - well, the terriers are, the twins are currently sleepies)
Absolutely loved the Halloween episode. Ironically enough, I misremembered Ethan's name *as* Franklin until I got all the way down to the notes and went "oh, really, huh. So that's Cori's ex from here. Not the original Buffy character. Huh."
I'm going to assume, possibly incorrectly, that we're mere "episodes" away from Mac and Grids doing the matress mambo that costs Mac his soul (again) and turns him back into Macavity? ((No, no I'm not eagerly awaiting that bit. Nope, not at all. I do like Mac but I really want to see him as Macavity))

Read the latest chapter of Buffy!verse
I was in full "Misto needs cuddles stat because this has gone to suck so fast" mode. I felt so sorry for him when he and Cori finally confessed and realized this can't happen (at least right now) due to Misto being a student at the school and Cori's whole teacher/librarian-ness thing going on.
Loved the fact that Tugger leapt to Misto's protection

Whoops, sorry for not replying for a little bit there.
Yeah, Franklin's an OC not Ethan from the actual show. He's a bit more... brash one might say.
Well, "mere episodes away" is a bit of a misleading statement... we have a lot of stuff to get through first.
Now, as for the latest chapter... Yes, Misto needs cuddling. He'd prefer Cori but... at this point the day when he skipped classes Tugger came out and there was a lot of clinging. Tugger's sorta used to Distressed!Clinging!Misto at this point but it ticked him off enough to yell at Cori. He has this massive protective streak. It shows up for Grids too sometimes when it can, but he and Misto go back long enough it's different.

((well, I did say I was assuming incorrectly to cover myself, after all, it has been, oh God, ages since I watched it. It was one of the shows we watched as a family when it first came out.))
I love the Tugger/Misto relationship you've built for this verse - it's so well done (and a welcome reprieve from all the Misto/Tugger slash I've seen. Unf.)
