The shorter tom blinked and bit the inside of his lip. "Because I'm tired, so I'm probably going to head to bed. And I just..." he shrugged. "If you're going to stay up working late, you might as well have tea and something to eat." His tail flickered slightly, betraying how nervous he actually was about taking such an initiative... but it was making him feel a bit better to think Coricopat would at least eat something he could see.

"Thank you," Misto murmured, still standing near where he had set the plate down. Barely pausing a moment he leaned down, kissing the top of Coricopat's head lightly, tired enough he wasn't thinking the motion through.

Cori finished his work, almost an hour later than normal, the mantle clock striking three as he returned the papers to his briefcase and retired for the night.
