Mistoffelees came up to Jerrie's house, glancing around and hoping the other might be around. The day before he'd made it to the grocery store to pick things up before retreating back to Fourth Street, and he still was using a cane more than he wanted to. But he'd prefer to take the time to heal. Coricopat was still limping slightly and it made Mistoffelees wince.
He reached up one paw and knocked on the door.

Jerrie looked up at the knock, setting aside the decagon he'd carved so far out of the block of wood. He rose and answered the door, "Misto! Hey, come on in." He stepped aside, looking his friend over, "How're you doing?"

"Hey," he said, grinning, and stepping inside. "Despite the way the cane must look, I'm doing pretty okay. Almost completely healed," he added, spreading his arms slightly. "And you?"

Jerrie offered the smaller cat a grin, closing the door. "I'm doin' well, work's pickin' up again." He lead the way back to the front room, settling back down in his chair and picking up his carving, starting to etch out the pattern in it and beginning to shave away the edges of the shape.

Misto settled thankfully on the couch, watching his friend. "That's good." He glanced at the block of wood and back up to Jerrie. "By the way, have you seen Tugger around at all recently? I haven't seen him since the first day I was in the hospital and I know he doesn't like the place but... I'm a little worried about him I guess."

Jerrie shrugged slightly. "No, I don' think I have. I'm sure 'e's alright."

"I suppose so," Misto said, and shook his head slightly. "At any rate, I thought I'd check in with you. Aside from work then, how are things going? How's your sister doing?"

"Things are going well. Teaze is doin' pretty well all told. How 'bout with you? Things goin' okay?" He continued the careful whittling away at the block of wood.

"Yes," Misto said after a moment. "I'll be well enough to go back to work soon and..." And he kissed me, he added silently, not willing to push that fragile boundary quite yet. [/i]With no excuse and not in anger and I'm more in love than I was.[/i] "And things are going well."[/color]

Jerrie nodded slightly. "That's good to hear." He focused on getting the corner of what he was working on carved away, pausing for a long moment as he saw what he'd etched into the face of the wood. His paw stilled before he returned to his work.

Misto tilted his head to one side at seeing that. "Figure out what you're carving?" he asked.

Jerrie nodded. "Yeah, bit surprised by it."

Arching a brow, Misto settled more on the couch. "Oh?" he prompted softly.

Jerrie hesitated for a long moment before holding the wood out to Misto. The outline of what he would be carving was etched into it, a line for every edge.

Misto took it, considering it for a long moment. "That's... wow," he murmured. "Rather intricate, isn't it? Who's it for, do you know?"
