"Well, we hardly lack for pots here," she replied. "But if you happen to know where we may find more, I'm sure a deal could be struck there as well."

"Well, I can get pots. Mostly surplus from the Great War" Arthur said, "But enough about me. Tell me about yourself. Who is this stranger who comes and asks a humble fisherman about his business"

Clara blinked through the mention of the Great War, suppressing her slight shudder. "Well, we can say that I stand in as a representative of somecat else, who desires a profitable partnership of this sort."

"Profitable partnerships?" Arthur asked. "Profitable for both parties I trust."

"Of course," she replied smoothly. "It would hardly be a truly profitable relationship if only one side profited from the first transaction--that is no way to build a lasting sort of partnership, and the lasting ones are the ones that reap the most profit."

"Indeed." Arthur nodded, taking out his cigarette case and fiddling with it a bit. "So, may I meet the cat you represent? Or can you place the order?"

For a moment Clara paused. "I think it might be best at this juncture for me to place the order, after some consultation with who I represent. Shall you be in dock tomorrow?"

"I shall be there, I look forward to seeing you again." He said extending his paw.

She smiled softly, nodded. "Rather," she said, accepting the paw and shaking it. "I look forward to it as well." She rose. "I shall be by tomorrow then."

"I shall be waiting." Arthur said, standing up and putting the items away. "But before we part. May I have your name?"

She paused for a moment. "Certainly, if I can be given the same," she replied. "Mine is Clara Rosenthorn," she added, after considering giving him her undercover name instead. But if this was to last, being upfront would be best.

"Of course." He said with a bit of a smile. "Arthur Lambrick, owner and skipper of the Queen of Hearts."

She smiled at him and nodded. "A pleasure to meet you," she said, inclining her head. "I hope our business together will be both long and profitable for all parties."

"The feeling is mutual." Arthur said, opening the door and beckoning her to follow him back to the docks.

She considered protesting that she was more than able to show herself out, but decided against it, following him instead. Once back out in the fresh air, she turned to him again. "Good day to you, Mr. Lambrick," she said, inclining her head and turning to go.
