Cori glanced at him, offering him an almost sheepish expression as he leaned down and picked up the book to return it to the shelf. "Sorry, didn't mean to wake you."

"No, it's fine," Misto replied, pushing himself up and wincing. "I didn't mean to fall asleep and should really, really move to a bed and not the couch anyway." He shifted, feeling more stiff than he had when he had actually gotten out of the hospital.

Mistoffelees froze as well, looking from the paw to Coricopat's face and back. He was honestly too afraid to take it. "Yeah, I..." am trying to be careful, is what he meant to say but the words got stuck somewhere.

Leaning forward slightly, almost making a sound of protest at the withdrawal, Misto froze again and mentally berated himself for acting like an idiot. "Nothing. I'll be fine, don't worry."

Coricopat hesitated for a long moment before offering Mistoffelees his paw again. "I'm glad to hear it."

That time Misto took the paw quickly, using it to draw himself up. He paused once standing though, not wanting to release the paw and probably standing too close.

Misto took a deep breath at that, almost but not quite sighing. "Sorry," he mumbled, not dropping the paw still and waiting for Coricopat to draw that back as well.
