Lou did briefly wonder exactly what she felt needed talking over at this point, but nodded, motioning to an empty table.

Aside from when and where, there wasn't a lot that needed talking over, but Honey was keen to find out a little more about the place, and a little friendliness never hurt anyway. If he got to know her then he might be more keen to hire her after hearing her sing.
She headed for the table he'd indicated. "Can I buy you a drink of anykind?"

He shook his head, pulling a chair out for her. "No, thank you."

She gave him another smile as she sat down, carefully smoothing her skirt "Thank you. And that's fair enough. So, how long have you been managing this place?"

"A couple years now. How long've you been in town?"

Honey considered this for a moment, "Must be coming up to four years or so now. It's not the first time I've been here, if that's what you mean. But I never had reason to ask who was in charge before."

He shook his head. "It wasn't really, but what changes that made you need to talk to me now?"

Honey laughed again, doing her best to make light of it, "The need for a new performing engagement since my last one fell through."

"The mid west, small town most people have never heard of." there was a degree of scoff in Honey's tone, "I much prefer life in the city, I spent a couple years in New York too."

Lou shrugged a bit. "There are benefits to not living in a city."

Honey shook her headfur from where it was slipping across her eyes again, "Well I can't think of any."

"Less gunfire at odd hours." He replied before he thought about it.

Honey couldn't help but laugh at that, "True, but there's a lot less of everything, at least things are never dull here."

Lou shrugged. "True, but I would almost say that's a mark against it after awhile. After all, cats can only go at a constant rate of speed for so long before they give out."
