Teazer sat in her favourite chair in the living room, legs tucked beneath her. The was a cup of coffee on the side table, but it was cold.
She'd returned to work more than a little worse for wear after her encouter with Martin, jumpy and unfocused, she knew he hadn't done anything to hurt her, at least not so far, but the idea that she'd let a creep like him get that close made her skin crawl. Not to mention the fear that this might not be the end of the matter, he was still out there after all.
She knew it was the least of her worries, but the thought of how she'd possibly ruined things with Sonya kept creeping back in there as well. Though Martin's words, 'Did you really think some tom would approach you on your own charms?' echoed back through her mind as well. She was probably imagining there had ever been anything with Sonya anyway. Somehow that tought stung the most, because it was only really at that point she'd addmitted to herself what she was feeling.
She'd been home for several hours, after she'd dropped a tray of drinks at work and almost spilt soup over several customers, not to mention the permernant 'rabbit caught in the headlights' experssion and general lack of focus, her manager had sent her home early saying she clearly wasn't going to be any more use to him that day and to sort herself out if she still expected to have a job when she returned.
Despite it all, Teazer was grateful to be home, though after getting in, cold to the bone thanks to her forgotten coat, she'd managed to do little more than make the, now cold, coffee and light a fire in the living room. Her eyes watched the flames in the grate as she ran the day's events over and over again in her mind.
