Ricky growled, backing a couple of steps up the staircase. "Ey, don't come after me. You started this."

Franz prowled after him, blood up and instincts screaming for blood, even though his common sense was still in control. For now. "I started nuzzing you impudent little rat."

Ricky hissed a bit at that, still backing quickly really glad his brother didn't witness this. "If I'm at the base a th' stairs an' you didn' see me come in then obviously somecat did an' they didn't stop me. So I must belong 'ere. It ain't your business what I do 'ere anymore'n it's mine about your job."

Jones emerged at the top of the stairs, looking around for his wayward employee. "Cooper!" he yelled out, and finally turned his gaze down to the scene in front of him. "Do you mind? You're late."

Franz's spine snapped tight and he pressed his lips together over his teeth, in a fine, pissed off line. "Sorry, Sir. Assessing potential security threats." He glared down at the nasty little kit.

Ricky's lips drew back, his ears still laced flat against his skull as he stepped aside to let Franz ascend the stairs. Bastard.

Jones arched one brow, and motioned a paw at Ricky. "Run along now, you have things to be doing." He turned back to Franz. "While your dedication is noteworthy and even praiseworthy, I do prefer my runners in one piece. They get the job done much better then. Shall we?" he motioned toward his office.

The kit shot Franz a bit of a smirk before scurrying down the stairs and out the front door. Everlasting Cat, if that was how one of his 'fellow employees' reacted maybe Taradan was right. He couldn't really get out of this now though, but... He growled, hating to admit that even to himself, but he needed help to do so. Something big would have to happen for him to be able to pull out.
((exit Ricky))

Bobbing his head and starting up the stairs, Franz didn't take his eyes off the kit until the door snicked shut behind him. "I'll try to keep that in mind, Sir." For good measure he laid his ears down for a moment, ducking his head again as he passed into the office.
Well that had been a fine ruin of a perfectly calming cup of tea. Franz smoothed down his tie before buttoning up his jacket. "I have a bad feeling about that one, he's too stuck up for his own good."

((Oh god Franz, you realize the irony right?))
Jones shrugged, moving his bulk back around the desk to settle in his chair, taking a sip of the drink by his elbow. "Yet he gets the job done remarkably well, so until I find a suitable replacement he really is the best runner I have, though he may be a bit snooty and loudmouthed." Jones turned one of the papers on the desk. "Now then, I have been looking through my social calendar and there are several events coming up." He handed Franz a paper with the dates. "Will you be available then?" One date mentioned was Hollister's New Year Ball.

((sooo out of practice. Franz be sulkin'))
Franz studied the dates and pretended to consider them. It would never do to give away quiet how dire his straits really were. "Yes, for these I'm fine." He noted the Ball with some curiosity. "How formal will the shindig be?"

Jones raised a brow at the use of the word shindig. "The ball is one of the most formal events of the season, as well as one of the more exclusive. I suggest your best suit for attending it."
((I don't care, I'm just squeeing that he's back!))
