Doc nodded his thanks, setting them on the bedside table as he continued to carefully clean the wounds on Cori's back. "Heavens, what did you say to them?"
"Nothing they wanted to hear. Are you stitching those or editorializing?" Cori growled in pain.

Misto glanced between the two. He wanted to ask who "them" was and what the hell Cori had done, and was he always this much of a jerk toward the person trying to stitch him back together? He swallowed again and glanced at the Russian Blue.

Doc rolled his eyes but worked swiftly, carefully seeing to the four parallel scratches that had bit deeply into the ADA's back and ran from shoulder to hip. "Try not to tick them off so much next time, hm? I'd rather not have to stitch you up more than once a year."
"There isn't going to be a next time. I'll take them down from the bottom up if I must." Cori grit out between clenched teeth as the doctor set to work stitching the wounds shut.
"You seem pretty certain."
"The bastards shot me with my own gun I'm damn certain of it." The lawyer's voice held a dangerous level of venom. Better to focus on how to deal with the cats behind this than on the pain coursing through his back.

"...Um..." Misto slipped out of the room before he could think better of it, or melt into a panic attack.

Doc carefully finished stitching up the claw marks. "I'll be back to check over your paws in a moment."
"They're fine." Cori muttered halfheartedly as he turned onto his right side to take pressure off his wounds, watching the Russian slip from the room to locate Mistoffelees.

Misto was having a quiet panic attack in the kitchen. He was standing near the sink, and couldn't decide whether he should brace his paws against the counter or burry his head in them. He settled for trying to breath at a normal tempo.

Doc stood quietly in the doorway for a moment, studying the young tom. Poor cat looked like he was going to faint. A glance back toward the master bedroom, recalling that the smelling salts were in his coat pocket. "Excuse me?" He finally spoke.

His tail poofing out again from where it had never settled down, Misto turned his head at the sound of the other cat speaking. "Um, yeah?"

The doctor entered the room by a couple steps. "Not exactly what you expect when you come home, hm? You do live here, yes?"

Misto's hands were fluttering somewhere as he tried to figure out the answer to that. "I... I... yes. I'm living here. And no, that's not what I expected to come home to."

A slight nod in recognition of what he'd said, before Doc continued his thought, "Well, as you're living here I do have a favor to ask of you."

Misto bit the inside of his lip, wondering how long he really was going to continue living there and nodded. "Alright. What?"

"That idiot in there is going to need help. He'll deny it forever, but that doesn't change the fact. He can see to the GSW and the damage to his claws, but the wounds on his back need to be re-bandaged daily for a while. He can't do that on his own. If you're able to do so it would help me if you could. I cannot be having a fight with him every day to make sure those wounds stay tended to."

Misto considered, his stomach attempting to make an exit from his feet. "Uh, sure. Is there anything I need to know about doing it?"

"Not especially, just make sure they're changed regularly. Believe me, he'll let you know if you're doing anything wrong. If there is something you're unsure of I can be reached at Felidae General most hours of the day. Ask for Dr. Cohen."
