Tugger was still tense, but he found a little comfort in Macavity's action all the same. Straightening a little in an attempt to pull himself together, though it was several moments more before he turned around, finally feeling he had ahold of himself enough to do so. He still didn't trust himself to speak though and wouldn't know what to say if he could.

Munkustrap finally finished with the lettuce, glancing toward his brothers, uncertainty in his expression.

Mac sighed again, but offered Munkustrap a smile anyway. "Hand the lettuce over here?" he asked. "Then the chicken should be done in another minute."

Munkus offered a twitch of his lips that may have been a smile in reply as he brought the lettuce over to his elder brother.

"Thanks," Mac said, accepting it, working up a salad before setting it on the table, going back to the chicken and checking it.

Munkus nodded, murmuring a "you're welcome" before glancing toward Tugger.

Tugger watched the exchange in silence, toying with his mane again, one arm wrapped around the other.
"I guess I should probably clear your bed off after dinner. Things kinda acumulated there over time."

The silver tabby almost managed a chuckle at that. "Well, time passes, that sort of thing happens, but thank you."

Tugger gave a half-shrug, "You gotta sleep somewhere."

Mac paused, one ear flickering before turning. "Alright, food's ready," he said, carrying the pot over and dishing up three portions.

Tugger swallowed a little, not really sure how hungry he was. The whole situation felt so normal it was almost bizzare. If it wasn't for the impending presence of their father returning home later, and the lingering tension in the air, this almost appeared like a picure of a happy family. He shook his head, that was too odd, the word 'family' had meant just him and Mac for the last six years.
However, Tugger moved away from the sink and took a seat at the table, "Thanks Mac."

Munkustrap hesitated, it was strange to consider actually sitting down to eat with cats he was related to. He finally came over, settling into one of the chairs. "Thank you, Mac."

Mac nodded, returning the pot and sitting down as well. "You're welcome," he murmured.

Tugger picked up his fork, but toyed with his meal rather than eating it, he felt bad for having no appetite, but hoped Macavity knew him well enough to understand it was little reflection on the food.
